Affirmations
I believe in the power of affirmations. Know, though, that not all affirmations are positive ones. Anything that you tell yourself is an affirmation and will change your life. Be sure you think and tell yourself positive things if you desire to enjoy positive, happy experiences. Here are some good examples you might like to use, or create your own.

Wolf Spirit
All species capable of grasping this fact manage
better in the struggle for existence than those which rely upon their
own strength alone: the wolf, which hunts in a pack, has a greater
chance of survival than the lion, which hunts alone.

If you live among wolves you have to act like a wolf.

I
woke up one morning thinking about wolves and realized that wolf packs
function as families. Everyone has a role, and if you act within the
parameters of your role, the whole pack succeeds, and when that falls
apart, so does the pack.

Smithers Centennial - The Rest of MY Story
I wrote a post about the Smithers Centennial and how I and my 'family of origin' are connected with this event. I posted "Happy 100th Birthday, Smithers, BC" after cutting some of what I had written. I cut it because I decided to put a link to that post on Facebook, my page and the Smithers Centennial 2013 page, and I felt that not all of what I had written need be part of that post. Yet, I didn't want to just delete what I had written. Maybe it's more something that should be shared in a Diary, or in a Personal Journal. I have chosen to share those words here instead of hiding them away, even though they are about my feelings and may have no real interest to anyone other than myself... or they may. If you are about to read this post, you may want to go read that first part first, then return here to read the rest.
Here is the rest of the story:
For many years I was very unhappy with my parents for moving us away from Smithers, though I have been having a very good life in the Okanagan Valley, and am now happy to be here. I think it is only since 2000 that I no longer think of that town as my home. I often dreamed about being on the road traveling from Vernon to Smithers, or Smithers to Vernon, or being in one preparing to travel to the other, feeling torn between my two homes. It's not all that long since I last had one of these dreams. I think that, in my heart, I have now chosen, that I now finally truly know which is my home. I am here, at home in Vernon where I have a good life, a nice home, and many dear friends.
This evening, while visiting Mom, she asked me if I was glad we moved down to this area of our province. I don't know. For so many years I felt I had been taken away from where I was meant to be, and I knew in my heart of hearts that I would have married the boy I knew since I was a little girl, the absolutely gorgeous man I spent some time with when visiting as an adult. I believe that had he not been married to another by that time, we would have gotten together all those years later since the childhood love was still there... for both of us. After that visit I never saw him again, for he was killed in an accident way too young.
I will never know what my life would have been like had we stayed in Smithers, I can only guess at that. I know my life has not always been happy here, but who's life is always happy? Would it have been happier if we had stayed in Smithers?? It has certainly not turned out the way I had hoped, the way I had envisioned it would be. Yet, I suspect it has turned out the way it was meant to be. Am I glad we moved away from Smithers? No!! Am I sorry we moved away from Smithers? No. It is what it is.... period!
I thought I was finished writing this post.... I was going to hit "Publish"... yet I have said nothing in either Smithers post about my Aunt Mable. My mother's sister. She was so much a part of our lives as we were growing up. I so miss my beloved Aunt Mable!! She has been gone many years now and life has never been quite the same without her here. I look forward to the day I see Aunt Mable again...
Tears are rolling down my face now... it is time to end this post.

Peace by Harmony
It has come to me that perhaps the fastest way to PEACE is not by looking for PEACE, that it is LIVING IN HARMONY!! World PEACE is a very overwhelming thing to create. In order to have PEACE in the world, each and every person must first have PEACE within their own heart. If you have one grain of anger, hate, frustration, to name just a few, then you do not have total PEACE within you, and we can not experience World PEACE until EVERYONE has only PEACE within them.
However, even
if we still have some of those issues (anger, hate, frustration, envy,
etc.) that I know we are all working at removing from our lives, we can
still choose to LIVE IN HARMONY with those around us, and choose to not
spend time with those that bring out that other stuff. Even if we spend
time with them and do not feel totally loving and peaceful towards
them, we can still choose to spend the time together HARMONIOUSLY! (For
example: some things my mother says to me, so ways
she treats me, hurt me... yet I choose to not fight, to just let it
go.... to see it as her issues, and to get along rather than argue....
Harmony. There are so many other ways my 89 year old mom is wonderful,
so I can choose to focus on them.)
I believe that if I choose
to live in HARMONY with someone I do not know well or understand his or
her ways (i.e., perhaps a store clerk of a different color, nationality,
religious belief, etc.) then I put out HARMONY vibrations into the
world, even though I may not get along with my sister, for example. By
practicing HARMONY with all I meet, with all I live near, perhaps one
day I can enjoy HARMONY with those I may choose to remove from my life
at this time.... and by LIVING A LIFE OF HARMONY, I believe I help to
create WORLD PEACE!!

I Choose.....
I am working at changing my house keeping habits and at releasing much old 'stuff' from my home. I am doing what I can to clean up this mess I have been living it, I want my home to be something to be proud of again like it once was. I used to enjoy having friends over, now I live in CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome) and I want to be able to have people over again.
I release the old and I welcome the new!!!
I do this in Peace, Ease, Harmony, Love & Joy!!

Affirmations

I recently did a post titled Carfirmations. I keep my Carfirmations CD in the CD player in my truck and every time I drive anywhere I get to listen to my dear friend Chris Madsen playing music while he shares positive affirmations and quotes, also on the CD there are songs he wrote and is singing. Of course, they too are positive, spiritual songs. I am so much enjoying listening to this each time I go anywhere, and it always brightens my day.

I Am A Poet
Something else I have read about on the internet, something I picked randomly to read about is... roland workstations. I am not a musician, but I do have friends that are. Some just play for the fun of playing music and singing, while others are actually professional musicians and even music teachers. I think it would be so cool to be able to sing and to play a musical instrument, but that apparently is not to be a skill I have in this life time. I do write poetry at times, though, and have had some of my poems published in a local magazine called Saddle Up. I also wrote a poem that I showed to the minister of the spiritual centre I went to at that time, and to his wife. She is a pianist and felt very inspired by the poem I wrote, so she wrote music to go with it. I no longer go to that centre, nor do I communicate with the minister and his wife, but I do still have 'our song', the sheet music Hannah photo copied for me. It is a very positive, spiritual poem and song.

When We Give.. We Receive!!
When I no longer have need of things that are still useable, I like to donate them to second hand stores or give them away through Freecycle. My friend Dan thinks I'm crazy and that it's just garbage that should be thrown into the dump. We can agree to disagree, lol.
Last fall I bought a new mattress & box spring set, so had a double mattress to give away. I advertised it on Freecycle but had not takers, so put it into the carport where it was safe from getting wet and there it sat. I was also given a big bag of women's clothes last fall, went through and took out what I wanted, then put it into the carport with plans to take it to donate and never got around to doing that. A couple days ago I advertised both on Freecycle and had lots of replies for both the ads I put there. I contacted the ladies from the first email received from both posts.
Heather I have known for years and it was good to see her again after not seeing each other for quite some time. She was delighted to get the clothes! and we enjoyed a short visit while her husband sat waiting in the van.
I had never met Ann or her son & daughter before. They came to get the mattress for the daughter's daughter, though it was Ann that had answered my post. What great people!! Very friendly and nice. I so enjoyed meeting them and they were so grateful to get this mattress.
So, by giving my old things that others would take to the dump, I not only did a good deed to Mother Earth, but these people got something they needed and we all were blessed by meeting each other and having short though wonderful visits together. When we give... we receive!!

Inspirational
The following is copied from The Divine Awakening on Facebook. I read it and it really touched my life. I have re-read it multiple times, then decided to share it with you. It may touch your life too.

It is human and natural to feel alone at times; to forget that there are people who love us and are thinking of us even when we're far from them or haven't seen them in a long time.
It's vital to also know that there are Spiritual Beings of Light who are always around us, loving and supporting us. These beings give us little reminders every day of how much we are loved, through poignant song lyrics, or a well placed sign on the side of the road; Spirit is always giving us signs if we only have the eyes to see and ears to hear them.
It is not just Spiritual Beings who come into our lives to love us on an energetic level, but also people. It may be difficult for you to completely understand this; but every single person you encounter is sent to you from Heaven. You have never once met a person in your life who wasn't sent especially for you, at exactly the right moment. As Neale Donald Walsh said in one of his Conversations with God, "I have only sent you Angels".
We are all made of the same essence - God - Love - Universal Life. And we all play important roles in each others lives whether we are aware of it or not. Someone may come into your life and give you nothing but pain, and on a conscious level perhaps they choose to hurt you, and yet on a Spiritual level their soul knows that your own soul has asked them to play this role in your life, so that you can learn a valuable lesson, and remember a vital truth about Love.
So the next time someone hurts you, or angers you, or causes you unpleasantness in your life, take a moment to remember that they are as sacred and as Loved as you are - for they are made of the same Essential God-Energy as you. Give thanks for the lesson they've come to teach you, and then get over your feelings of victimization - realize the lesson - and move through it.
You are never alone, you just forget that sometimes. But right now, as you sit there reading these words, your guides and Angels surround you, reaching out to you in energetic warmth and Love. You are the most special being in the Universe to them. And even the lowliest or tyrannical of human beings in the world are loved by their own guides and Angels.
Because again - God has sent us nothing but Angels ♥

Rose
I am texting with a friend who is hurting. I know from where she comes as what she has been telling me reminds me of... me. I know her pain, and through her today I got to see how far I have come along the road I must walk. Wow, I am so very grateful for this experience, for this view from where I stand now. I have tears blurring my vision, tears of joy, tears of love for the friend I will refer to as Rose and for myself and for the journey we are on. These tears are also love for Spirit, for God, for ECK ... whatever one wishes to call the Creator. Why am I calling her Rose? Because I see her as a tight bud that is just starting the first steps of unfoldment, starting to bloom and to become, eventually, the beautiful Rose she is meant to be. We all have scars (scar from surgery, scar from accident, acne scar, and inner emotional scars) and it's time for all people to start healing, especially those inner scars. I send love and blessings to everyone.

Happy Valentines Day

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
to everyone in the world.
to everyone in the world.
I believe that every day is the right day to show and express your love. Every day is the right day to feel & acknowledge LOVE. Don't wait for Valentines Day to tell someone that you love the, then them and better yet show them Every Day!!! When my Dad was still alive I told him every time I saw him that I loved him, I even taught him 'sign language' for I Love You which really worked well for Dad. When he passed away I was blessed to not have to live feeling/thinking "I wish I'd told Dad I love him. Now he's gone and I will never get the chance." Instead, I live my life knowing that i told and showed Dad every time I saw him.... I loved my Dad and I will still love him for the rest of forever. I also tell Mom that I love her every time I see her or speak to her on the phone.

Happy New Year
The time is tick-tick-ticking away.... slowly heading towards midnight. The year
is coming to an end along with this day.The clock on my computer says it is 11:11pm, a special time to be sure, and it tells me just how close we are getting to that moment in time when this year will end and the new year will begin, filled with hope and promise for a better, happier, healthier, slimmer, trimmer, more love filled and joy filled year of greater prosperity. Yes, we all pin our hopes on the new year, wanting it to be better than the old one. There is a way to insure that it is better... change the way we think and we change our experiences in life.
One sure way of changing our lives and making them better, happier, richer, etc. is to practice gratitude.

Just take a moment here and there to count your blessings.

For everything, great and small, give thanks.

I have so very much to be grateful for and I take time each day to thank God for the many many things I have to be thankful for. Some are as simple as:
- I am grateful for my eyes as they allow me to see the beauty that surrounds me.
- I am grateful for my ears, for with them I get to hear music, laughter, birds singing, and all other things that I can enjoy &/or learn from.
- I am grateful for my feet and for my legs as they make it possible for me to stand and to walk, to drive my truck and my trike.
- I am grateful for my hands and my wrists and my arms. They make it possible for me to care for myself and others, to pick up my food and feed myself, to pet my animals and to take care of them all.
Having been in a crash this year, I am even more thankful now than I was before for my hands & wrists. Having had the left wrist shattered and the right one sprained I have come to really appreciate just how much we depend on the use of our hands for great and small things every day. Just for a day try not using your hands, or even think of each little thing you use your hands for and notice just how wonderful a creation they really are.... be grateful for them. Slowly I am getting the use of my left hand back, but it is still unknown if I will ever get full use of it back. I am so grateful that I can again type with it.
I also think of the 'outside' things for which I am grateful, such as though not limited to:
- I am grateful for my home. It is cold outside tonight and I am blessed to have a home to live in and a fire going in the stove to keep my home warm and comfortable for me and my animals.
- I am grateful for each and every one of my animals: Mewsic (cat); Grace Hawk (rabbit); Sheri, Daisy, Smudge & Charlie (chinchillas); DW (Indian Ringneck Parrot/Parakeet; Friday & Miracle (Pacific Parrotlets); Angel, Stud Muffin, Tiki & Billy Bob (Cockatiels). They give me a reason to get out of bed in the morning, and to come home again each time I leave.
- I am grateful for my computers... for oh so many reasons.
- I am grateful for the food I eat as it nourishes my body.
- I am grateful for the clothes I wear.
And I can go on and on and on... but I won`t just now.
I had many sad times in 2010, and I also had many happy times, many things to be grateful for. I know that I am truly blessed in many ways. I look forward to the coming year, knowing that it too is filled with many things I will be grateful for. It is filled with much excitement, joy, love, prosperity, abundance, friendship and.... more.
As the last second of 2010 and the first second of 2011 approach, I wish you all much to be grateful for. I wish you all the very best of everything in this wonderful year and beyond.
