The Muffled Target

There is a new 'meme' that I just discovered and am playing along. I was over visiting Thom at Thom's Place 4 Well Whatever... and saw he had posted to this new blog. My first thought when I saw the photo of the cat was "Gattina!" Yes, of all the bloggers in the world, I knew Gattina at Writer's Cramps was behind this Meme. Here are some of her words telling us of this new game:

I raked my brain to find something else for a Monday which could be a nice theme or meme and had an idea (not a dream)

Each Monday post a picture which is completely crazy, messed up, with nothing on etc, which normally you would immediately delete. It can be everything, like only shoes instead of the whole person, a blurred building or whatever you want. Then tell us the little story how it happened and what it should have been.

Look closely!! Do you see that beautiful coyote in the photo?? No?? Neither do I. He/she moved way too fast and I got no coyote photo, just this not-real-pretty photo of a patch of bush. Oh well, maybe next time.

Now, you can go check out this meme if you would like to see other players or play along too.

Word Association Meme

Alice Audrey hosts the Association Meme:

Have you ever played the word association game? In that game, someone will say a word, then the next person says the first word they think of. Each person who follows simply says what ever word comes to mind, based on the previous word.

For instance:
Person 1: red
Person 2: bull
Person 3: pasture
Person 4: grass
etc.

For the meme, it would look more like this:

Alice said: Go!
Sacred Ruminations said: Forth and Multiply
Heather said:

As you can see, Alice Audrey has taken this to another level and adjusted it for blogging. Here are the rules:

1. Anyone can play, whether they have been tagged or not.
2. Include the rules and logo in your post.
3. Copy out all the responses that were made before you.
4. Link to each of the people who responded before you.
5. Put in your response. Your response can be as little as a single word or as much as 100 words. It can be a word, a phrase, an image, a song, a video, a story, or a short rant.
6. Tag anyone you would like to challenge to play this game. You do not have to tag anyone.
7. You can do this any time you run across it, even if you were one of the previous responders.

If you have done this meme on your blog, you are welcome to put your link on Alice Audrey 's blog, on the 'home' of this meme. Be sure to link to the specific post, and welcome to the Association Association.

Want to simply jump in? You are welcome to start with the word “Excitement”, or to take off from any of the responses you find among the players listed below.

1. Excitement (Alice Audrey)

2. Thrill (Hootin’ Anni)

3. Suspense (Hazel)

4. Murder (Thom – the first time)

5. Premeditated (PattiKen)

6. Intentions (Thom)

7. Plans (Quilly)

8. Of mice and men (Reba)

9. Cats & Dogs (me)

Tagged by Quilly

Today, among other things, I am reading some back posts on Quintessentially Quilly. You see, Quilly is away on holidays and I want to know where she went and what she's up to... yup, gonna be nosy. Haha. Besides that, I also want to catch up on some reading at Thom's Place 4 Well Whatever... and a few other great blogs. So.... I go back a bit at Quilly's blog and I find a meme challenge, posted June 15, that I didn't even know was there. Far be it from me to fail to participate in a challenge. Late I may be, though not show up? NOT. Here it is:

Your Mission, should you choose to accept it:

1) Go to your photo files…Select the 6th photo folder
2) Select the 6th photo in that folder
3) Post that photo along with the story behind it.
4) Then challenge 6 blog friends to do the same!

Since I am on the Acer I don't have many photos, just the 2009 file. On the HP I have back to 2003. Therefor things would be much different with that computer. Anyway, the 6th folder in the 2009 file is "Experiments" in other words, photos that didn't turn out the way I had in mind when I was trying something new.

Here is the 6th photo in "Experiments". I took it January 18, 2009. I shot out through the laundry room window at icicles hanging down. Obviously the focus was more on the yard than on the icicles here. So much for 'auto focus' camera.

Here is another shot to show you what I was shooting at. The roof is a steep metal roof, and the snow always hangs way out off the edge for some time, then finally there will be a big crashing sound as tons of snow fall to the ground. Well, maybe not tons, but a LOT. The first winter I had this roof on, it scared the sh.... ummmmmm, it was rather startling every time this happened.

Now I'm supposed to tag 6 blog friends. Well, since it's been over 2 weeks since I was tagged, I believe the statute of limitations has expired on this requirement... so I leave it up to you. This is a fun meme, so if you would like to play along, "just do it" and let me know so I can come by and see... and I will post your link so others can also come look.

Wordless Wednesday & Dragon Hunt

To join in the fun, or just to see other players:
Wordless Wednesday

And for more fun:
Melli is hosting a Dragon Hunt!

My post today is a mix of the two.

Dragon Hunt & Ruby Tuesday

I just found out that Melli is hosting a Dragon Hunt! How cool is that, haha. It is also Ruby Tuesday. I was going to post some photos from my trip for Ruby Tuesday, and have now changed my mind. I am going to combine the Dragon Hunt and Ruby Tuesday.

I bought this cute little dragon one day when I went to post a letter. I saw this sitting there on sale for only $4.99 and just couldn't pass it up. At the time I was excited about the upcoming weekend of Dragon Boat Racing. Silly me, sheeeesh! Oh well, perfect for today's theme for both these memes.

Page 123 Meme

While traveling the blogesphere reading Friday Fill-Ins and Friday's Feast posts by others that are playing (like I am... scroll down if interested), I came across this meme, the Page 123 Meme, on The 3 R's: Reading, 'riting and Randomness. It sounded good, so I decided to play along too.

Rules:
  1. Provide a list of the books you’re currently reading.
  2. Pick up the nearest book, and open it to page 123.
  3. Find the fifth sentence, and post the next three sentences.
  4. Tag 3-5 more people by posting comments on their blogs.
  5. Link back to the person who tagged you.

My answers:

I am currently reading:
The Science Of Mind - by Dr. Ernest Holmes
The Secret - by (drat... I'll have to go get the book and then edit this out, haha)
Various manuals and magazines by Toastmasters International
You Can Heal Your Life - by Louise L. Hay
The Law Of Attraction - by Esther & Jerry Hicks

I think that about does it, lol.

I have two books sitting right here beside me, so guess I'd best do this writing for both of them.... The Law Of Attraction .... The Science Of Mind

The Law Of Attraction:
The most powerful Law in the Universe - the Law of Attraction - simply says that that which is like unto itself is drawn. You may have noticed that when bad things begin to happen in your life, it seems that everything starts to go wrong. But when you wake up in the morning feeling good, you have a happier day.

The Science Of Mind:
Modern science tends toward a teaching of Unity; tends to resolve the material universe into a physical universe, and the physical universe into energy. The tendency of modern thought is to return, by the route of inductive science, to the great spiritual deductions of the ages - that All is One. But men are still puzzled, trying to reconcile the world of multiplicity - the objective world of many things - to their belief in the final necessity of Unity.

In both cases, I felt disappointed with what I was to share with you, because there is soooo much good stuff in both of these books, and it feels to me that what I've shared here is far from the good stuff that is here to be shared. Oh well, it is what it is, haha.

Let me see.... hhhmmmm.

Sanni over at It's Sanni-licious
Tisha the Crazy Working Mom
Claire working in Claire's Garden
Travis giving us a look at Trav's Thoughts. Trav has an interesting meme over there that he just did. I may grab it and do it soon, but not tonight, haha.

If anyone else wants to play along, please do!!! Just leave me a note letting me know so I can pop on over and see what you've said, haha.

Happy Weekend!!! I plan to post all weekend, so come on back soon.

In Leau of Friday's Feast

Friday's Feast has been cancelled today, :o( but Logtar stepped in with this Christmas Meme, so here goes!

1. Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share Christmas facts about yourself.
3. Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Welcome to the Christmas edition of “Getting to Know Your Friends.”

1. Wrapping or gift bags?
Both. I like wrapping them and doing them up pretty, but lately find it faster to use the bags, lol

2. Real or artificial tree?
My 'Christmas tree' this year is a Norfolk Island Pine. I had one of these plants years ago and used it for my Christmas tree, but don't remember what ever happened to it, must've died. This year I bought this new one. There are actually several plants in the one big pot. I put what few scraggly decorations on it that I have. Not many. I'm single and never here on Christmas Day, so don't worry too much about it. I do other decorations too, and don't want to overload this plant. Also have a small fibreoptics tree that I've used the last couple years, but haven't got room for it this year with the Norfolk Island Pine. Maybe I'll put it on the TV in the bedroom.

3. When do you put up the tree?
I often don't... last few years I do about a week or so before the big day.

4. When do you take the tree down?
New Years, or a few days into January.

5. Do you like egg nog?

Love the stuff Mom used to make, can't stand the stuff you buy in the stores.

6. Favorite gift received as a child?
That lump of coal the one year was really great! Haha. Actually, I don't really remember what I got, though I remember many other things about Christmas mornings.

7. Do you have a nativity scene?
No I don't

8. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
Nothing comes to mind, least ways, nothing true, haha.

9. Mail or email Christmas cards?
Both usually, but haven't gotten around to mailing any this year, so will hand some out personally, and email the rest.

10. Favorite Christmas Movie?
Don't really have a favorite... there are many on at this time of year that I like to watch.

11. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
Usually I don't shop.... I make gifts instead. This year I didn't have time to make anything, so ordered some wonderful teas from Mo at The Wren's Nest and It's A Blog Eat Blog World. I sure hope they get here soon. Just 2 more 'mail' days 'til Christmas. I plan to buy Mom a nice tea cup and some crackers and other snacks... do up a nice gift basket for her. It's so hard to know what to give an 84 year young person who has more money than I do. I think I'll give some photos I took, matted, to the rest of the family members, and some tea to my sister M. She always gets 'extra' cuz she's nicer to me than the rest are.

12. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
Turkey dinner with all the trimmings, including yams and my special bread pudding.

13. Clear lights or colored on the tree?
I have no lights on my little Norfolk Island Pine, I don't want to overload the branches and hurt the plant. I have colored lights that I put up around the window.

14. Favorite Christmas song(s)?
I forget the name of it, but it's about a turkey being invited for Christmas dinner with the farmers family. It's really funny. I also like "Six White Boomers" where 6 large white male kangaroos pull Santa's sleigh around Australia and a lost 'joey' gets a ride home on the sleigh.

15. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

I've traveled 2 times in all my years, one was with family. The rest of the years, I've always gone home to Mom's, about a 30 minute drive if the roads are bad enough to slow me down. haha.

16. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner & Blitzen, Rudolph... and of course, Olive.

17. Angel on the tree top or a star?
Neither.

18. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
When I was a kid, Mom & Dad let us open one each on Christmas Eve, and the rest had to wait until Christmas morning. One Christmas morning, Dad went out to milk the cow and we had to wait..... then he came in and Mom gave him his bowl of porridge, and we had to wait.... We all swore Dad ate slower on that morning, but he always said he ate the same speed as any other day... hahaha.

Now, all wait until I look after my animals and drive to Mom's place where we open our gifts together. There's no hurry, they'll all be there when I get there. Now, if a nice man of my dreams was to give me a gift that might be harder to wait to open, haha.

19. Most annoying thing about this time of year?
Nothing. I don't let these things annoy me. I see it that I have 2 choices. I can get annoyed or I can be happy. I choose to be happy!

20. Do you decorate your tree in any specific theme or color?
Nope... I just use what I have a wa la, it is what it is.

21. What do you leave for Santa?
Nothing. The old goat still delivers my gifts to Mom's house and I haven't lived there in over 30 years.

22. Least favorite holiday song?
Several that I won't go into here, haha. I have 2 choices..... 1 is to bitch and complain, the other is to go on to the next question. I choose the next question.

23. Favorite ornament?
I kinda like the Santa, sleigh, reindeer on mountain, taking off... it's a water thingy, but the motor for the water pump doesn't work any more. It still looks cool though. And I like the little houses and the church. Hold on... I'm going to take some pics for you.

24. Family tradition?
Don't really have one.

25. Ever been to Midnight Mass or late-night Christmas Even services?

Last year our Christmas Candle Lighting Service was on Christmas Eve, but it's not usually. This year it's Friday December 21st... Just over 19 hours from now... and I'm singing and talking in it. There is sooooo much to do before then.

Merry Christmas to All!!

I challenge all that read this to do one and link back here as well as leave a comment so I can come read yours.

Tagged - My Desktop Meme

I got tagged by Stine at Mother's Home.

Here are the meme rules:
Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. Here’s how you can do a screen capture:

1.Go to your desktop and press the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).
2.Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and doing a Paste (CTRL + V). If you wish, you can “edit” the image before saving it.
3.Post the picture on your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop if you want. You can explain why you prefer such a look or why it is full of icons. Things like that.
4.Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktops as well.
5.Add your name to this list of Free Viewers with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants.

People who have already pimped their desktop: Francine of La Place de Cherie Chez Francine Bloggishi Unchained Melody LadyJava’s Lounge Mariuca Revellian Dot ComDesktop Emila’s Illustrated Blog Spiff, The Spaceman Rolando Brown Baron The Kat House MAX Mother's Home! I Was Born2Cree8 add yours here after doing this tag.

I took the photo in May 2007 when visit the town of Tofino on Vancouver Island, BC Canada. Tomorrow most of these icons will be gone. When I bought this laptop it came with lots of 90 day trial programs, most of which I didn't even bother trying, haha. Anyway, I figure it's time to have them gone, so earlier this week I set it up with my friend/computer techie, Dan, that he will come by tomorrow and clean out all the programs I don't want or need on it. Some of them are also things I put there, like a couple pics, some things I'm working on so don't want to put away just yet, and when I'm working on a PPP op I sometimes download a logo to put in the post, just because I like seeing photos or pics of some kind in the post to give it interest.

Now to find 5 people to tag. Stine took most of the people I would have tagged, haha.

1- Sanni @ Coffee 2 Go
2-Crazy Working Mom
3- Dragonheart
4- Skittles
5- Sandee @ Comedy +

Tagged!

I have been tagged again, haha. Awhile back Kai (The Buzz Queen) tagged me with this and I didn`t get it done. More recently Captain Lifecruiser has tagged me with it... so, even though I already did it once when tagged by Travis (Trav`s Thoughts) I am going to do it again with different words. You can read the original one too if you like.

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
2. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
3. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts.
4. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
5. Don’t forget to link back to the person that tagged you in the beginning :-)

G - Growing (personally, spiritually & financially)

A - Able (to do, be or have anything I truly believe I can)

I – Intelligence (beyond my own understanding)

L – Love in action (an expression of God), Lovable, Loving & Loved!

So now I have to pick 4 people to tag. Hey, it`s the rules:

1- Jamie (Duward Discussion)

2- tegdirb (And Miles To Go Before We Sleep)

3- Sandee (Comedy +)

4- Empress Bee (Muffin53)

Love2Link Meme

Love2Link Meme

This meme was created by Imma (Alice) at I Was Born2Cree8. It’s simple to do and its purpose is to make a chain around the world. It will also put our links out there to increase page ranks for those that blog for pay. PEACE ON EARTH – 365 DAYS A YEAR!! This is how it works:

1- Copy and paste this entire meme into your post.
2- Add the link to your blog and where you are from.
3- Tag just 2 other people to do the same.
4- Leave a comment on the blogs of those you tagged to let them know about this meme.
5- Leave a comment on the blog of the person that tagged you letting them know you played along.
6- Don’t delete the links above… lets see how big this can get.
7- If you get tagged a second time, just do it all over. I’m sure you can tag just 2 more people.
8- If you haven’t been tagged yet and want to play too, “just do it”.

Tagged!

When I was a kid, one of the games I played was tag, as I'm sure most kids do. You chase each other around then when you touch the other person, joyously yell "Tag! You're IT!" As a blogger, "playing tag" or "being tagged" is different from the childhood game I remember, and yet is still a source of fun.

This evening, Travis from Trav's Thoughts, tagged me with the Middle Name Meme.

Here's the rules:

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
2. Players: you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
3. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name game facts.
4. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

My middle name is: Gail (I'm lucky it's only 4 letters, makes life easy, lol)

G - I believe that God is all there is. Everyone and everything is a physical expression of the infinite energy we call God. The 7 aspects of God: peace, power, beauty, joy, life, love, light.
Life is Glorious when we allow it to be.

A - I totally love Animals, they are a very big part of my life. I don't think I would want to live without critters in my life.
I have the Ability to transform my life, one changed thought at a time.

I - Imma walking my Spiritual pathway, according to my beliefs and what I feel in my heart and soul to be Truth. Imma into self Improvement & personal growth. Imma single, outgoing, friendly, talk to strangers on the street, believe we are all created equal... even the homeless and downtrodden are expressions of God. Imma WOMAN!!

L - Laughter... I Love to Laugh and I Love Life (most days), haha

Okay.... so I probably didn't have to put so much per letter, but I did (and could go on, lol). If my middle name had an E in it, it would be for Excessive, haha.

Now for tagging 4 more people... I'd love to do it according to the letters in my middle name, but will settle for 4 people I think would enjoy playing along. I'd love to tag Kai from The Buzz Queen, but she is so busy with company and getting ready for her move that I'll let her off... this time. :o)

I choose to tag:
1- Sanni from Coffee 2 go
2- Tisha (who I affectionately call "Crazy") at Crazy Working Mom
3- Madcap of Mason Madcap
4- Gattina of Writer's Cramps

Tag! Your IT!!

I hope you will all play along. If for some reason you can't, please let me know so I can tag others instead. If you want to play and haven`t been tagge, just leave a message here that you are joining in the fun and go for it.

Memes or ????

Thank you to all who came to view my memes (or whatever they would be called) this week. I've been calling Manic Monday, Wordless Wednesday, Thursday 13, Fridays Feast & Photo Hunters all memes, but I recently came across a definition of the word meme. After reading that I realize the error of my ways... so now, what are these things called then? At the bottom of the page I noticed "Note that a meme and a carnival are not the same thing." So then I read to find out what a carnival is and it sounded to me that Manic Monday, Wordless Wednesday, Thursday 13, Fridays Feast & Photo Hunters must be carnivals. Then I followed a link I found there to a list of several carnivals in the blogosphere, and they don't look at all like what we do in the above list. So now I don't know what's what, or what to call these things we do.

Do you know the answer to this? What are these things called? Won't someone please tell me? Oh ya... just remembered, I have to go see what this week's Manic Monday topic is . See you later.

TAGGED!

I was tagged several days ago by Kai at The Buzz Queen. Finally I am getting it done.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place. Then add your blog to the bottom slot, like so:

1. Holly's Corner
2. Daddy Forever
3. The Ice Box
4. The Buzz Queen
5. I Was Born2Cree8

Next select five people to tag:

1. Skittles
2. Travs Thoughts
3. A Bit Of Me
4. Crazy Working Mom
5. Dragonhearts Domain

Then answer the following questions:

What were you doing 10 years ago?

10 years ago…. Hard to remember yesterday, haha. In 1997 I was selling mobile homes for Lakeland Mobile Home Sales. I also spent several nights at my parents home looking after my Dad so my Mom could get some rest. Was hard to work all day, look after Dad all night, then work all day again, but I don’t regret it and am happy I was able to do it. That summer, my first day on the new job, my bridge broke so I had no front teeth, then another tooth broke and I decided to have all the top ones out, so then I was without any top teeth for several weeks. Then I got a top plate that never stopped hurting. I know there was a lot of things happening that year, but at 1:09am I can’t think of them, lol.

What were you doing 1 year ago?

Hmmmm... well, I think it was May when I joined the Board of Trustees at the Okanagan Centre For Positive Living and became the Treasurer. Not long after that I was asked to be the Song Leader, and said yes. So I guess at this time a year ago I was up to my ears learning to do these jobs and trying to catch up the treasury that had been abandoned months earlier by the former Treasurer. I didn't have this blog yet, but did have others which I just checked back with to see what else I was up to then. I was still very involved with a spinners & weavers group ~ my old blog Born2cree8, June 2006 Archives. Growing Greater June 2006 Archives, shows I was also trying to pretty up my yard. I eventually gave up on it again. Oh ya... and of course, I was blogging!

Five snacks you enjoy:

1. Mixed nuts
2. Apples
3. Kellogg’s Cereal bars
4. Peanuts in the shell
5. Anything chocolate

Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:

There are no songs I know all the words to, so I will tell you 5 of the songs I sing in church:

1. Lord Of The Dance (I'll be singing this Sunday July 1 as "Special Music" rather than a congregation song. On the choruses and some of the verses, I will be joined by my friend Bev. The plan was that, with 7 verses to sing, we'd each solo 3 and duo the choruses and last verse. Bev's voice is very soft, so she needs a mic which we don't have, so we decided that she would be more comfortable (her first time doing this) if she had someone sing with her. so I get to sing out my loud voice on my solo verses, then sing softly with Bev on her verses and the choruses, and the last verse. Hannah will play the piano, Bev is tapping sticks, and I am wearing a special set of bells that buckle onto the ankle and I move my leg in time with the music to make them tinkle. It should all sound great.
2. Hymn of Promise. I sang this as a solo, now it is a congregational song we sing. It's a beautiful song.
3. Sing About Sunshine. A Congregational song.
4. Magic Penny. Another one I sang solo first and is now sung by everyone.
5. We Are One Family. And again... solo then the who group.

Five things you would do if you were a millionaire:

1. Invest all of the first $1M, if there was $2M I’d invest $1.5M and the rest would be accessible for my use. (Live comfortably off the interest of invested money for the rest of my life and my heirs would have a great windfall when I go)
2. 10% minimum I would choose to give to my church
3. Buy a farm, horses, other critters, and have “hired help” to do the work while I have fun (Okay, so this would be part of the investment)
4. Hire a maid/cook (maybe the spouse of the hired help mentioned in #3)
5. Travel travel travel!

Five bad habits:

1. Not doing my house work
2. Drinking pop (soda... soft drinks)
3. Staying up half the night
4. Sleeping in late
5. Too much time on the computer

Five things you like doing:

1. Laughing
2. Driving
3. Riding horses
4. Blogging
5. Reading

Five things you would never wear again:

1. Mini Skirt
2. Tight jeans (unless & until I get my body back in the shape I want it)
3. A bikini (unless & until I get my body back in the shape I want it)

TAGGED!

Okay... I've been tagged. I know I've been tagged 2 other times not so far distant in time, and still haven't gotten to them... sigh... but will still try to do so soon. Tonight I went to see what Claire at Clairesgarden is up to and found she'd tagged me for the Wikipedia meme. So here we gooooooo......

I went to Wikipedia, typed in my birth date (January 8) and will now copy/paste from it to meet the required numbers as follows.

3 events that happened on that day in history (there are a lot of things, starting in 871, but I'll pick out just 3):

1499 - Louis XII of France marries Anne of Brittany.
1877 - Crazy Horse and his warriors fight their last battle with the United States Cavalry at Wolf Mountain (Montana Territory).
1977 - Soviet space mission Luna 21 is launched.

2 important birthdays (I think it means other than mine, sheesh! There are a lot of cool ones there, so a challenge to choose.) :

1556 - Uesugi Kagekatsu, Japanese samurai and warlord (d. 1623) (I was born on his 400th birthday.... what a gift! haha)
1935 - Elvis Presley, American singer and guitarist (d. 1977)

1 death (again, lost of interesting names to choose from) :

1935 - Jesse Garon Presley, stillborn twin brother of Elvis Presley

Okay... now I have to choose 5 people to tag with this so they can join in the fun too. Let me think.... hhhmmmm.... (If you want to play great, if not no one will pelt your home with rotten eggs.)

Thursday 13 - My 3rd

Thirteen good quotes:

1- "I am no more lonely than a single mullein or dandelion in a
pasture, or a bean leaf, or sorrel, or a horse-fly, or a bumblebee.
I am no more lonely than the Mill Brook, or a weathercock, or
the north star, or the south wind, or an April shower, or a
January thaw, or the first spider in a new house."
-Henry David Thoreau, naturalist and author (1817-1862)

2- "Vision is not enough, it must be combined with venture. It is
not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs."
-- Vaclav Havel

3- "Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in
eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our
hand -- and melting like a snowflake." -- Marie Beyon Ray

4- "It is only possible to live happily ever after on a day to day
basis." -- Margaret Bonnano

5- "Every human action, whether it has become positive or
negative, must depend on motivation." -- Dalai Lama

6- "You are what you think. You are what you go for. You are what
you do!"-- Bob Richards

7- "A good intention clothes itself with power."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

8- "The key is to not resist or rebel against emotions or to try to get
around them by devising all sorts of tricks; but to accept them
directly, as they are." -- Takahisa Kora

9- "Emotions are energy in motion. They bring us information if we
are willing to experience them. Unfortunately, many of us are
afraid of the energy of emotions and so we automatically resist
them. And when we refuse to experience our emotions, we block
them up.They become trapped and that entrapment drains our
energy and brings continuing discomfort.

"Don't let emotions push you into action or reaction. Just STOP and
PAY ATTENTION. Allow them to be and to speak to you. Once they
are acknowledged, their energy is released.

"Instead of resisting any emotion, the best way to dispel it is to
enter it fully, embrace it and see through your resistance."
-- Deepak Chopra

10- "We have to become more conscious of our feeling-world. By
learning to identify the `emotional baggage' and manage our
feeling-world reactions, we can view life based on current
information instead of being held captive by our past."
-- Doc Childre

11- "Our feelings are our most genuine paths to knowledge."
-- Audre Lorde

12- "When guilt rears its ugly head confront it, discuss it and let it
go. The past is over. It is time to ask what can we do right, not
what did we do wrong. Forgive yourself and move on."
--Bernie S. Siegel

13- "If we don't forgive ourselves for our mistakes, and others for
the wounds they have inflicted upon us, we end up crippled with
guilt. And the soul cannot grow under a blanket of guilt, because
guilt is isolating, while growth is a gradual process of reconnection
to ourselves, to other people, and to a larger whole."
-- Joan Borysenko

And now, just for fun, and just for good measure, here is a French proverb:

"Light burdens borne far become heavy."

Trying to Catch Up

A special thanks to all who came and left me comments over the last few days.

These memes are fun, but sure are time consuming. :o) I enjoy going around to all these different blogs to see what everyone posted for that particular meme, and leaving my link there. I always like to reply to everyone that leaves me a message, and go to their blog for a visit, but have gotten so far behind the last few days that I haven't done those things, sooooo...... if your name is in this post, expect a visit if you've left a link back to your blog (unless I've already been there, hahaha)

For dropping in and leaving messages on Manic Monday, Thank You to:

I really do enjoy reading all the bits and pieces that you leave. I am so glad that you enjoy the things I post here.

Now for Thursday Thirteen... I think I gave a couple people the idea that I wanted to buy a tea pot for my home. I apologize for being unclear on that. I want one for here on my blog. I invite all of you over here for tea, so we need a tea pot here, lol.

12 people left me Fabulous Feedbacks. Thank you to all:
Lisa
Krista
Empress Bee
Heather (in Beautiful BC)
Sanni
Skittles
Christine
Gene Bach
Schaumi
Gattina
Annie
La Tea Dah (I love that name)

The results of the pole are:
#1 - 1
#2 - 2
#3 - 0
#4 - 2
#5 - 2
#6 - 0
#7 - 2
#8 - 2
#9 - 3
#10 - 0
#11 - 1
#12 - 3
#13 - 0
... and La Tea Dah, like me, likes them all.

So, a tie between #9 & #12.

The flavours of tea preferred:
Lisa: English Breakfast tea
Christine: English Breakfast tea, Earl Grey tea
Schuami: Earl Grey, Jasmin, Peppermint, Chamomile

Excellent choices. In my T13 post, I said "My favorite is good old "regular" tea. Orange Pekoe. I also like Earl Grey or English Breakfast. In the summer I like fresh picked Chocolate Mint Tea. I forgot to mention Rooibos tea (pronounced Roy Boss) from the African Redbush. It is really great tea and comes in many flavours. Two of my favorites are Almond Rocker Rooibos, and the one with blueberries in it (forget it's name just now).

This meme has been fun.

Thursday 13 - - My 2nd

Thirteen Tea Pots to choose from:

I invited a few people over for tea, so now I need a tea pot. I went to Alstavista to have a look at their images and found a lot of tea pots I like. I downloaded 67 of them, so here are 13 of them. I want you all to tell me which one you like best (place your vote), you can even tell us all why if you like. Also, I'd love it if you all tell me what kind of tea you like best. My favorite is good old "regular" tea. Orange Pekoe. I also like Earl Grey or English Breakfast. In the summer I like fresh picked Chocolate Mint Tea. I never drink coffee. Never liked the smell or the taste of it. But I do love tea.

Thursday 13

This is my first go at Thursday Thirteen. I wasn't sure what to write here, so I followed links to many other blogs to see what they had put... looking for ideas. Then I went into the living room to watch some TV and the ideas started to flow. I wrote down 13 topics that I can do for Thursday Thirteen. I am tempted to put this list of 13 things here as my first posting for this meme, but then others will likely use these ideas before me... so for the next 13 weeks I will have something to blog about on Thursdays.

13 Positive Affirmations:

1- I treat myself right, balance and harmony are my hallmark.

2- I trust the Infinite within as I embrace the new; time is on my side.

3- I release from memory old moments of pain, they happened; I grew. I now move into joy.

4- I vow, to give myself today, the best life ever!

5- Today I open my eyes to new possibilities of wonder and joy.

6- All that I desire is mine today. With a heart filled with joy I make my heaven on earth.

7- Today I put my whole heart into my every act of giving.

8- Today I give the greatest gift of all, I give love and I don’t get caught.

9- I willingly step into the new today.

10- I breathe and it is life that I breathe; I am grateful for all my blessings.

11- Today I change my mind and find the heart of goodness in every action.

12- I remind myself that I have always done the best I could and that is good enough. I release myself and all others from any debts of yesterday.

13- Today I embrace my life and all who are in it with the fullness of my heart.

Christmas Questionaire

I got this through an email, and I also remember reading it on someone else's blog, but can't remember just now who's it was.

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot Chocolate, please!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree?
Neither! That's Mrs. Claus's job to wrap the presents.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Colored lights everywhere!! I love color!!

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
No... it would never get used here :o(

5. When do you put your decorations up?
I don't usually decorate as I always go out for Christmas day, but when I have done it, I've decorated just shortly before Christmas. This year I did a bunch of it yesterday and will finish it off very soon.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Sweet Potato Pie!! Mmmm goooood.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
When we were kids my siblings and I got up very early as we were so excited. However, we couldn't open our gifts until Dad got up, went out and did chores (milking cows, feeding animals, etc.) and ate his breakfast. It seemed to take him FOREVER to eat that bowl of porridge!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
What truth???

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
When we were kids we always opened one gift on Christmas Eve. As an adult I don't tend to because if I did there would be nothing to open on Christmas {well, there would be something, but not a lot ;o) }

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
I just have a 2' fibreoptic {don't know if I spelled that right} tree that you plug in and the tips of the needles light up. It's not one you'd decorate as it already looks so pretty when plugged in. However, I do have one ornament on it...

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
Dread it on my driveway... Love it everywhere else!

12. Do you ice skate?
I haven't done that in years.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
I love everything anyone gets for me! It's all special to me.

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Time spent with family and friends. Exchanging gifts we made/bought while thinking about each other.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?
All of them! With maybe a bit of a preference for Bread Pudding and my Mom's Naniamo Bars.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Don't really have one.

17. What tops your tree?
... the one and only thing on my little tree is, sitting on a branch at the top is a small teddy bear wearing a Christmas Santa Claus type hat.

18. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
Both!

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song?
Leroy The Redneck Reindeer!!

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
Yum

Okay... now it's your turn. If you decide to take up the challenge and put this on your blog, let us know so we can all come and read your answers!
