Make any kind of post using "Common" as your prompt.

At this point I'd like to say "Hats off to all participants of Heads or Tails this week."

I would like to point out that there is bear and bare.

I thought that whoever came up with this idea, shamrocks growing in an upside down hat, had a good point... it works well.

I'd like to point you in the direction of the rainbow and the pot of gold at the end of it.... and of course, to all the luck of the Irish!!

But the point is... I'm not Irish, and I don't have a clue where the pot of gold is... and if I did, it would be MINE!!

Oh well, I wish you all a most HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY anyway.

May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
~Irish Blessin

St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time - a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic.

Legend has it that birds have played many large parts in life over the millennium. I have included one of the many legends I found on birds.

Birds in Mythology

Rising above the earth and soaring through the skies, birds have been symbols of power and freedom throughout the ages. In many myths and legends, birds link the human world to the divine or supernatural realms that lie beyond ordinary experience.

Birds assume a variety of roles in mythology and religion. They play a central part in some creation myths and frequently appear as messengers of the deities. They are often associated with the journey of the human soul after death. Birds also appear as tricksters and oracles. Ravens and other species that feed on carrion, the flesh of the dead, may be symbols of war, death, and misfortune, as well as mediators between humans and the supernatural world. Other birds represent strength, love, and wisdom.

Winged Wisdom

Birds in mythology sometimes have the ability to speak. These talking birds, often sources of wisdom, may be deities in bird form or simply messengers of the deities. Either way, their advice is generally sound, and humans ignore it at their peril. Birds warn of dangers ahead, reveal secrets, and guide heroes and travelers on their way.

Birds do not always speak in human languages; many stories tell of people who gain the power to understand the language of birds. In Greek mythology, a snake licked the ears of the prophet Cassandra, who could then understand what the birds were saying. After tasting the magical blood of a slain dragon, the German hero Siegfried knew what the forest birds were saying.

Now, here is Paco. The newest addition to my home. He is a Ringneck Parrot who I am hoping will mate with DW (see her photo in sidebar). Paco is a very friendly and wonderful bird who rode around on my shoulder a lot today, as well as ate bits of apple from my fingers. In one day I already am in love with Paco, and if DW doesn't fall in love with him, then she's crazy.

Want a better view of Paco? Of his red beak? Or the pink & white rings around his neck? Click on the photo and it will give you a larger version.

Heads or Tails

THIS week's theme/prompt is:
EDGE - "Any Past Theme"
This is the first appearance for the new category! (Aren't you excited????) Search through the themes list and pick out one you may have missed, or already did and want to do again. (Please make your selection from a past theme.)

I've chosen to use this one:
April 29TAILSShare a special memory

February 2nd

Everett L. Koskimaki
February 2, 1955 - June 18, 1999

I married Everett when I was 17, he was 18 (September 1, 1973). Unfortunately, the marriage didn't work out and we separated December 5, 1976. December 5, 1977 I sat in a lawyer's office filing for divorce, and by August '78 I think it was, the final papers were through. I got my divorce on the grounds of Mental Cruelty. For some time I was hurt and angry with him, but in time I came to forgive him. I came to understand that nothing he had done was due to being a cruel man, but because he was young and just didn't know any better. We both were too young and we both made our mistakes. Everett passed away from a brain aneurism at age 44. I still think of him often, maybe too often after so many years have past.

D-O-G
(Pronounced with a hard O... dee OH gee)
I was unable to find a photo of D-O-G tonight. I guess I really need to do some cleaning and organizing here. I have a photo of her in a frame, but have had to put a lot of things in boxes during the floor renovations, to move things around enough to clear large areas of floor. Anyway, D-O-G was a female Belgian Tervern.
February 2, 1987 - August 27, 1998

I had a boyfriend that wanted me to get a dog. I guess because he loved dogs and couldn't have one where he was living, so next best thing was for me to have a dog he could play with. I was a confirmed cat person and had no need for a dog in my life, so at first I tried saying I didn't want one, and he wouldn't take no for an answer. Eventually, I agreed to get a dog, but said I had to pick it out myself, it couldn't be one he picked out, and he agreed to that. I thought I had it made. Every dog he showed me that needed a new home, I'd say it was nice but not the right one, or just out and out say I didn't like it. I always had an excuse and it worked until.... One day we went to look at a dog and there was this little furball with 4 feet and a nose, in a cage. He took the pup out of the cage and handed it to me feet first. She wrapped her front legs around my neck and snuggled her head in close to me. Then I heard "If you don't want this one, just put her back in the cage and we'll go." What? Put her back into a CAGE? "No one will ever put my dog in a cage again!!" I said. I think he had figured it all out and I was caught in a trap, haha. Bruce, thank God, was not in my life a great long time (one of my bigger "learning oportunities"), though D-O-G was in my life for 11 1/2 years of pure love. The evening of August 27, 1998, I was sitting here watching TV, when I heard what sounded like a car hitting..... something. I will spare you any further details, they were horrible and very gorry. I still have a hard time when that picture of her returns to my mind, so I choose to do my best to remember happier times.

I worked on this post last night, then saved it as a draft to post this evening. It posted before I had time to get back here and finish it, haha. I am going to see if I can find some photos to scan and put here. BRB!

Love you both.... I'll see you again some day.

Heads Or Tails

Heads Or Tails... a Tuesday meme.

THIS week's theme/prompt is:
TAILS - "This Time Of Year"
Tell what you do or don't like about this time of year.

NEXT week's theme/prompt is:
HEADS - "Watch"
Make a post in any form using "Watch" as your theme/prompt.

What I like about this time of year is how so many people seem to want to reach out and help other people who are in need. this is the time of the year when people give to the Food Banks in our area, when they give to families that are living in poverty so they too can have a good Christmas. Time and money is donated as well as food, putting on dinners for people to attend so they will have a turkey dinner. Everywhere you look, people are giving.

Another thing I like is the love that is in the air.

Also, the Christmas Candle Lighting Service that is put on each Christmas at the Okanagan Centre for Spiritual Living, my Spiritual Centre. On this one Sunday each year, the service is held in the evening rather than the usual morning service. It is a most beautiful service which includes the Story of Christmas, and the lighting of candles with explanations of what each one represents. First, Rev. Dale tells about the God Candle, then he lights it... and each candle is lit from the God Candle. The God Candle, by the way, is white. This year, I lit the Gold candle which represents Love. Red is for Power. Silver for Life. Okay, I don't remember each of the colors just now, but I do remember the 7 aspects of God which are represented by these candles: Peace, Power, Life, Light, Love, Beauty & Joy. There is also much beautiful, special music throughout the evening, and prayers etc. Last night, as we were about to have a prayer/meditation, I whispered into Hannah's ear (she was sitting beside me, is Rev. Dale's wife and our pianist) "I love you, Hannah". She whispered that she loves me too. Then she reached out her hand and we held hands through the prayer. I felt such a full feeling within my heart, the feeling I get whenever I know I am in true connection with God, and I felt so much love and joy that I had tears in my eyes.

For many years I hated Christmas and found it very depressing. I am so very grateful that those years have passed away and I can again love this time of year, I can again see and feel the Magic of Christmas.

Heads or Tails

This week's theme/prompt is:
HEADS - Wear
*or*
TAILS - Where
(This week you can choose either word, or both!)

Next week's theme/prompt is:
TAILS - Share an Autumn memory

Where would you wear
The hide of a bear?
Where would you wear
Teased & back combed hair?
Where would you wear
A flower if you care?
Where would you wear
Guns in a pair?
Where would you wear
Diamonds so rare?
Where would you wear
A mask and not scare?
Where would you wear
What you found in a lair?

What did you say?
Nowhere mon friar?

Okay, so I admit I am sitting here watching Boston Legal (Denny Crane is wearing a pair of pistols) and coming up with anything I can think of that rhymes with wear. I don't know if I spelled mon friar right or not, but I believe it is french for my friend.

I wish a Happy and Peace-filled week to all of you.

Heads Or Tails

Skittles is the hostess of Heads or Tails.
Check it out, and see more participants.

This week's theme/prompt is:
HEADS - Talk

Okay, let’s TALK here…

I’ve been really enjoying BRIDGING THE GAP, a photo challenge I’m currently hosting. This is a one week challenge (Saturday August 23rd to Sunday August 30th). We’ve been seeing some really beautiful photos of bridges around the world, complete with information on some of them, and a look at the country side where some of them are located. It’s fabulous!! (Check it out, haha. Just scroll on down and see the posts I’ve made so far… and the links to others blogs playing along.)

It’s turned out to be so much fun so far, and somewhat educational too, that I’m now contemplating the idea of turning it into a Weekly Photo Challenge!! (Peppylady said on her blog that it’s a weekly thing, and got me thinking, haha) So, one day per week people from around the world would do just what they are doing this week…. Post photos of bridges that they took themselves or are pictured in with the bridge, on it or in front of it or… Include some info on what you were doing at the time you took the photo, and/or about the bridge itself.

The idea behind this is that we are BRIDGING THE GAP between people all around the world. Getting to know each other through our words while showing photos of bridges in our part of the world and/or in places we’ve visited. Thinking ‘outside the box’ is encouraged. That helps us get to know you, too.

So folks… TALK to me here. Would you like to see this Photo Challenge become a Weekly thing? Would you like to play along this week or on a once-per-week basis? I’m thinking maybe on Saturday, though have not yet decided for sure. Nothing’s written in stone… yet.

TALK to me… give me your Fabulous Feedbacks!!

Manic Monday & Heads or Tails

Sunday night I prepared most of my post for Manic Monday's Bug... then I got distracted and never did get it posted, so no one knows I played Manic Monday this week. Oh well. After doing the work I couldn't just delete it, so I finished it and here it is.

I also wanted to play along with Heads or Tails today but to do so I'd have had to post it last night and I didn't.... so I'm too late for that too.... and you can scroll down in this post to see it anyway.

I changed the date and time of posting from when I started to when I actually finished, or there abouts, haha. Just to keep things in better order... sigh.

Today, Morgen (a.k.a. Mo) at It's A Blog Eat Blog World, has given us the word bug to post about and have some fun with for his Manic Monday Meme (or Challenge, if you prefer).

As I sit here watching TV and working/playing on my computer, with my rabbit sitting quietly on my chest (I'm semi reclined) there is a moth flying around me, not the first one tonight, that one died a sudden death recently. I don't know how these flying bugs manage to get into my home with screens on all windows and the door that are open, but manage it they do. This bugs me. I don't like flying bugs. In fact, I don't like bugs at all! I wish they'd all just bug off.

Okay... so I must confess that there are some Bugs I do like after all. I mean, who wouldn't like these bugs?

I really don't like to be negative, and telling what I don't like is negative... so I choose to out weigh that with some positive. What rhymes with bugs? That would be hugs!!

I send big beautiful
to all that visit my blog!!

Skittles started her own meme/challenge that she calls Heads or Tails.

This week's theme/prompt is:
HEADS - Joke

An old hillbilly farmer had a wife who nagged him unmercifully. From morning till night (and sometimes later), she was always complaining about something. The only time he got any relief was when he was out plowing with his old mule. He tried to plow a lot.

One day, when he was out plowing, his wife brought him lunch in the field. He drove the old mule into the shade, sat down on a stump, and began to eat his lunch. Immediately, his wife began haranguing him again. Complain, nag, nag; it just went on and on. All of a sudden, the old mule lashed out with both hind feet; caught her smack in the back of the head. Killed her dead on the spot.

At the funeral several days later, the minister noticed something rather odd. When a woman mourner would approach the old farmer, he would listen for a minute, then nod his head in agreement; but when a man mourner approached him, he would listen for a minute, then shake his head in disagreement.

This was so consistent, the minister decided to ask the old farmer about it. So after the funeral, the minister spoke to the old farmer, and asked him why he nodded his head and agreed with the women, but always shook his head and disagreed with all the men.

The old farmer said, 'Well, the women would come up and say something about how nice my wife looked, or how pretty her dress was, so I'd nod my head in agreement.' 'And what about the men?' the minister asked.
'They wanted to know if the mule was for sale.'

Sex In The Shower

In a recent survey, people from Detroit have proved to be the most likely to have had sex in the shower!

In the survey, carried out for leading toiletries firm 'Brut', a huge 86% of Detroit residents said that they have enjoyed sex in the shower.

The other 14% said they hadn't been to prison!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!!

Heads Or Tails

Skittles started her own meme/challenge that she calls Heads or Tails.

This week's theme/prompt is:
HEADS - Flower

Tonight I gave the 9th speech of ten to fill the requirements of Toastmaster International, for me to receive my Advanced Communicator Bronze award. I got a really fantastic evaluation for this speech (at Toastmasters, all is evaluated), and other members told me it's the best speech I've given so far (since I joined again after 10 years away from the club). It felt awesome!! It seems I always run out of time, finishing the writing of the speech while driving to the meeting, having no time to rehearse it before presenting it. This time, I wrote it several days in advance, then took the time to practice, practice, practice. I followed the short speech with a poem I'd written in 2003. It was to be a 5-7 minute talk, though I did go over a bit, 7:32... not too bad, but it's the first time I've gone over my time. In practice, I was able to do it within the time limit, so not sure what happened, but these things do fluctuate. Sometimes you have to pause and let the audience laugh, or maybe you talk a bit faster or slower than when you practiced, or who knows. Anyway, this following is the speech I wrote, though it was given not word for word, but fairly close. I've changed the names to protect the innocent... and the not so innocent. I have chosen the names of flowers to replace the peoples names so that I can count this as a Heads or Tails post, hahaha.

Speech Title: No Bigger Thank A Minute

Toastmaster intro (set up the occasion for the audience): Don your Sunday Best… top if off with your Party Hat! Hop in to the Time Machine & “Whooosh”! It is now August 28th, 2008 & you’ve just arrived at a Birthday Party!

I don’t know why her parents only gave her one name. Maybe it’s because she was so small they didn’t think she could handle more than on. However, little Lily Dogwood would prove to be a very strong little lady!

Mister Toastmaster, Fellow Toastmasters, Welcome Guests!

In 1923, when just a babe in arms, her parents still traveled to and from town by horse & buggy. On the way home one day, heading down Snake Hill, they hit a bump & Lily flew out of her mother’s arms, out of the wagon, down the bank & came to rest at the very edge of the creek… unharmed!

I first met Lily on January 8th, 19__ , the day she brought me into this world. By then she’d given birth to 4 children… and buried one of them! So I had 2 older sisters & 1 brother. In ’59 another brother was added to the mix. Yes, folks, little Lily Dogwood is my mother. She married Agave Cactus Flower in July 1948 & devoted her life to being as good a wife and mother as she could be.

Some of my early memories include:

- Mum pulling us kids around the kitchen on some kind of mop type thing. This was how she polished her freshly waxed floor & spent time having fun with her children.

- Mum breaking a wooden spoon on Snapdragon for writing bad words (in ink) on Marigold’s pencil case. (Of course, the spoon was already badly cracked from going through the wringer on the washing machine a few times as Mum put the wet laundry through to be wrung out, before she hung it out on the line to dry.

- Mum putting fresh, warm milk through the separator, separating the cream from the milk… much as she’d just separated the milk from the cows.

- Mum saddling Gypsy for us so we could ride her. Gypsy was a 16HH horse, her back higher than Mum was tall. It was a big heavy saddle & Mum picked it up, over her head, & threw it up onto Gypsy’s back.

Mum & I, as I’m sure most mothers & daughters do, have our disagreements… there were a few of them that were pretty bad, as I recall. Yet, we’ve always managed to get past them & move on. Now, every time we talk on the phone, or in person, as we say goodbye we always say “I love you!” to each other.

All of little Lily’s brothers & sisters have passed on now, as has her beloved husband of 50 years… and several of her friends… though she still has many friends as well as her 5 children, 8 grand children, and so far, 8 great grands. She lives on her own & not only does she still drive, but she words as a volunteer, driving around town delivering meals to ‘shut ins’, most of them younger than she is.

Yes, little Lily (Dogwood) Flower has proven to be one very strong little lady. She has lived an incredible life & continues to do so. I hope that when I turn 85 I will have been an inspiration to as many people, and been as good, honest and giving a person as Mum has.

I’d like to share a poem that I wrote, called “God’s Blessing”:

“This could be a blessing in disguise”
I said to myself one day
“Well, thank you, Mum
I then just had to say,
For she had often spoken to me
In just this very way.

Life does have its challenges,
This we all must know,
Yet Mumsy’s words of wisdom
Have helped my life to grow,
And through my very existence
Allow the Spirit of God to flow.

When I hit a big brick wall
And my life went all to…. Well,
Mum has always been there for me
Listening to problems I had to tell,
Lifting me up and dusting me off
Each time on my knees I fell.

“I don’t think I can make it”
I don’t know the way!”
“Oh, you’ll make it,
Because you’re a Flower,” she’d say.
I ask myself, “Without Mum,
Where would I be today?”

I am so very grateful
I’m telling you… oh brother,
I have looked around at many
And simply want no other.
I know that I am truly blessed
Having Lily as my mother.

Head or Tails

Skittles started her own meme/challenge that she calls Heads or Tails.

This week's theme/prompt is:
HEADS - Royal

This is the crest of the
Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Gendarmerie Royale du Canada

I didn't have any ideas at all for this theme until tonight when I was out at a Toastmasters meeting (I'll tell you about that in my next post... lots to tell there too. I stirred up something of a hornets nest with my speech tonight). I was almost run off the road.

I was driving along, minding my own business, about 5km of the 8km already behind me when I see this truck (larger than my truck) coming towards me and he pulled over so about 1/2 to 3/4 of my north bound lane was taken up by his south bound truck. I had to go over onto the shoulder and nearly into the ditch to avoid being hit. Not much makes me angry anymore and I very rarely bother to call the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) because I have before found that to be a waste of time, but tonight this made me mad enough to react. First, I made a very quick turn around in a nearby driveway and went after the truck to get their license plate number and truck description. Since there was no other traffic on the road, and there was a light on at the top of the cab of the truck, it was not hard for me to positively know that was the truck that had nearly hit me. It was hard, however, to catch up to them. They were going well over the speed limit, but never estimate an 'old broad' with a 'lead foot'. I can speed with the best of them. That's more than enough of a confession of my guilt, and I will not go into the actual speeds we went at... but the roads were dry and safe enough... and okay, I was stupid to do it. But I digress...

So, I was almost back into town by the time I caught up to them and got their license number. I immediately called 911, the number for emergencies, and reported what had happened, the description of the truck (full size Ford pickup, extended cab, dark red), the license number, that there appeared to be 5 people (2 in front and 3 in the extended cab part). During this time I keep following the truck "now we're going down __Street at ___ Ave... oh and we just turned onto ____ Street" .... east bound, south bound, west bound, south, east, south, west... until finally the truck pulled into a dark parking lot with trees around it, in the 'druggy' part of town. Hey, I'm brave and stubborn, I admit that, but I am not stupid... this is where I quit following them and drove away. I noticed that a guy from the truck came out into the street and was running after me for a bit to get a look at the truck I drive. I was far enough ahead that I very much doubt he saw my license number or much detail of my truck. I wonder if he saw my rottweiler's head stuck out of the canopy.

This trip through town took a fairly long time as we were driving very slowly most of the time. They knew they were being followed, but didn't know who was doing the following. The people in the back were watching me and the way they kept winding here and there around different streets showed they knew I was following them. During this entire time, I'm talking to the woman dispatcher at 911... and during this whole time I did not see even ONE police car!! Nope, not one of them responded to this. I told the woman that the way they were driving, I was fairly sure they were drunk or high on drugs, but still no response from the police. She made a file and an RCMP member will call me... eventually. She did ask too if I had gotten a good look at the driver and could I make a positive identification of him/her. Well no, of course not. First it was bright headlights in the dark of night, driving towards me and running me off the road... then I was in my truck following behind their truck so had no way of seeing the driver. Then she wanted to know if I could tell was the driver male or female? NO. I could see there were at least 5 people in the truck, I could see what the truck looked like and clearly read the license plate, but I could not see the driver.

I am pretty much sure that nothing will come of this. The cop will call at some point down the road (a day, a week, two weeks?? who knows), and will put his report into the file, and that will be that. They didn't actually kill me, so no harm no foul. That far down the road they won't be able to prove who the driver is, never mind if he/she was loaded... and obviously I am the only one that cares anyway.

Someday, this jerk could crash into someone and kill them... and it will be called a tragic 'accident'. I say 'Tragic? Yes! Accident? No way is that an accident. It's a 'crash', but not an accident."

I apologize for such a long post, however, it has made me feel much better to 'get it out' and to write it down so I don't forget what happened by the time a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police get around to talking to me about this so they can close their file and forget about this issue.

Have a wonderful day... and watch out for the jerks on the roads.

Heads or Tails

Awhile back, Skittles started her own meme/challenge that she calls Heads or Tails.
This week's theme/prompt is:
TAILS - Tell about your job (Or one you've had)

My "job" is living life to the fullest!! Yup, that's right! Okay, so it doesn't pay top dollar, but there are a lot of benefits included.

I am starting to feel like I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I've been so insanely busy. I love being busy, but sometimes it's also really nice to have some calmer times.

I was taking Science Of Mind classes (spiritual psychology, basically) on Tuesday nights for most of the fall and winter. These are now over for at least a short while, not sure when they start again, but as much as I love the classes, I am glad to have the time off). Tomorrow (today) is the 2nd Tuesday of no classes.... sigh.

The Centre, with musician Chris Madsen, put on a show Friday night at the Preforming Arts Centre, so that took up some of my time as I acted in a 2 person skit (and we co-wrote the basics of it, then did it mostly impromptu), and I was one of the backup singers. I really enjoyed it and have gotten a LOT of great feedback, especially on my acting. I'm so happy I took part in this great experience and I look forward to doing more acting (I've acted in one play before that had a 5 night run)... and I'm glad this one is over and the pressure is off, lol.

Tonight I presented a speech at my Toastmasters meeting. It was a project from advanced manual "Speaking To Inform", Project #5: Fact-Finding Report, and was titled Parrot Care. It was a 5-7 minute speech followed by a 2-3 minute question and answer period. I figured that since I had to do research for the speech, I may as well research something I need in my life right now. Having just gotten Taz, a Cockatiel, about a month or so ago, I researched how best to care for Cockatiels. Yesterday a Ringneck Parrot joined my life, so as luck would have it, with some more research, I found that the care of other parrots is much the same as the care of the Cockatiel. (Did you know that the Cockatiel, and even the little Budgie, are parrots? I didn't until I did this research.) The speech was to be as if we were presenting a report to a boss or some other group... so I set it up that the audience was members of the Domestic Bird Rescue Group, and I was presenting them with information for the care of parrots, focusing mostly on nutritional care. I made up 'dummy' reports with info from the internet and handed them out. Had a bag of budgie seed mix and some veggies and fruits as 'props', and did up a list of Fruit, Veggies and other foods good for parrots, and some bad for parrots "to be hung on the wall of the DBRG". I felt I was not properly prepared to give it... and in fact was still making changes to it right up to the time I presented it... and I had barely even rehearsed it. I know I could have done better. However, no one but me knew that I was so unprepared, and I got a really good evaluation on it. It did meet all the requirements set forth in the manual, so that is the important part. (I'm on the schedule to give another speech in 4 weeks, so plan to start on it this week. I really want to do at least one that I am actually prepared and rehearsed for. Will be interesting to see just how good I can be when I don't go in and 'wing it'.)

On top of this, there's the "every day stuff". Volunteer work at my church as well as being a Board of Trustees member, and the Chairman of Membership for the church. Now we are moving to a new location, so by June 15 we have to be in there. There is a LOT of renovation work that needs to be done, and I want to help here as much as possible. (I also want to stay home and vegetate for awhile, haha). I'll go there for at least a while tomorrow and lend a hand.

Also tomorrow I have song rehearsal with our pianist, Hannah. I always love this time. I go to her home and sing like a bird. Learning new songs sometimes is a real challenge, and sometimes is a 'breeze', depending on the song.

With 1 dog, 1 rabbit, 5 chinchillas, 1 budgie bird, 1 cockatiel and now 1 ringneck parrot, there is a lot of work to clean and take care of them. Also, the house and yard. I am way behind on those last two. There is enough work here for me and 5 big strong men... and there's only me.

I've often wondered how other people manage to 'do it all'. Work and live too. I don't think I could fit in a paying job... my life is just too full.

Oh ya.... almost forgot. Tonight at Toastmasters, we had Elections for Club Officers. I am the incoming VP of Membership!!! Also, one of our members said she's starting a Dragon Boat team. I'm going to the tryouts!! I think it would be a total "hoot", though hard work, to be on the team, paddling one of those boats. I'm totally out of shape, but this would go a long ways to getting me back into great shape. I'm not sure if I can do it with my back problems, but know that there is a really good chance that this could help with that too. I wish it was on Wednesday nights instead, but oh well... I'll somehow make it work, and hope that when the Science of Mind classes start again they can somehow be on Wednesday instead of Tuesdays.

And of course, there's blogging. I do this blog and 'help' Reba with her blog too (Mostly while that lazy dog sleeps).

Hey... I just want to do it ALL!! Like I said.... my job is living life to the fullest!!

May Light & Love be with you... always in all ways!!

Heads or Tails & Alphabet Photo Challenge "Q"

This week's theme/prompt is:
HEADS *OR* TAILS - Peace *OR* Piece

My wish for our world is PEACE!!
Therefor, as much as I'd enjoy a good piece (or something sweet), I choose to make todays post on Peace!

Alphabet Photo Challenge
originated at Quilly's Pacific Paradise, and runs for the first 26 days of May. Each day you post photos that you took, that have to do with that days letter.
Are you interested in
viewing my earlier letters?

Today I had a wonderful, peaceful afternoon in the local park. I met with friend Kay to work on what exactly we're going to do for the skit we are preforming at the "Preforming Arts Center" in our city this coming Friday night. When she left I decided to take a few minutes to take a few photos. It turn out to be more than a few minutes, and a lot more... a LOT more than just a few photos. I took, as it turned out 180 mostly fowl photographs! Here are just a few of them for you:

Is there a quota on cute?
These two are Canada Goose goslings (babies). Yes, I got a lot of different shots of them, lol.

Peace and Quiet in the Park!
Pigeon
Canada Goose.

Yes? You look confused. Do you have a question for me?

"That's it! I've had quite enough! I'm out of this pool!"

May PEACE be with you, my blogger friends, as it is with my fowl friends!!
