Quotes on Housework
I enjoy a good quote!
Don't cook. Don't clean. No man will ever make love to a woman because she waxed the linoleum - "My God, the floor's immaculate. Lie down, you hot bitch." ~Joan Rivers
The Rose Bowl is the only bowl I've ever seen that I didn't have to clean. ~Erma Bombeck
I think housework is the reason most women go to the office.
~Heloise Cruse
I'm not going to vacuum until Sears makes one you can ride on.
The trouble with living alone is that it's always your turn to do the dishes.
There was no need to do any housework at all.
We labor to make a house a home, then every time we're expecting visitors, we rush to turn it back into a house. ~Robert Brault
I am thankful for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.... I am thankful for the piles of laundry and ironing because it means my loved ones are nearby.

Peace by Harmony
It has come to me that perhaps the fastest way to PEACE is not by looking for PEACE, that it is LIVING IN HARMONY!! World PEACE is a very overwhelming thing to create. In order to have PEACE in the world, each and every person must first have PEACE within their own heart. If you have one grain of anger, hate, frustration, to name just a few, then you do not have total PEACE within you, and we can not experience World PEACE until EVERYONE has only PEACE within them.
However, even
if we still have some of those issues (anger, hate, frustration, envy,
etc.) that I know we are all working at removing from our lives, we can
still choose to LIVE IN HARMONY with those around us, and choose to not
spend time with those that bring out that other stuff. Even if we spend
time with them and do not feel totally loving and peaceful towards
them, we can still choose to spend the time together HARMONIOUSLY! (For
example: some things my mother says to me, so ways
she treats me, hurt me... yet I choose to not fight, to just let it
go.... to see it as her issues, and to get along rather than argue....
Harmony. There are so many other ways my 89 year old mom is wonderful,
so I can choose to focus on them.)
I believe that if I choose
to live in HARMONY with someone I do not know well or understand his or
her ways (i.e., perhaps a store clerk of a different color, nationality,
religious belief, etc.) then I put out HARMONY vibrations into the
world, even though I may not get along with my sister, for example. By
practicing HARMONY with all I meet, with all I live near, perhaps one
day I can enjoy HARMONY with those I may choose to remove from my life
at this time.... and by LIVING A LIFE OF HARMONY, I believe I help to
create WORLD PEACE!!

Affirmations

I recently did a post titled Carfirmations. I keep my Carfirmations CD in the CD player in my truck and every time I drive anywhere I get to listen to my dear friend Chris Madsen playing music while he shares positive affirmations and quotes, also on the CD there are songs he wrote and is singing. Of course, they too are positive, spiritual songs. I am so much enjoying listening to this each time I go anywhere, and it always brightens my day.

Be Specific
This is a good example of why people should be more specific.... especially when talking to children!!
.
.
.
A little boy got on the bus, sat next to a man reading a book, and
noticed he had his collar on backwards. The little boy asked why he wore
his collar backwards.
The man, who was a priest, said. " I am a Father."
The little boy replied. "My Daddy doesn't wear his collar like that."
The priest looked up from his book and answered. "I am the Father of many."
The boy said. "My Dad has 4 boys, 4 girls and two grandchildren and he doesn't wear his collar that way!
The priest, getting impatient, said. "I am the Father of hundreds" and went back to reading his book.
The little boy sat quietly thinking for a while, then leaned over and
said. "Maybe you should wear a condom and your pants backwards instead
of your collar."

I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific.
Lily Tomlin
For the meaning of life differs from man to man, from
day to day and from hour to hour. What matters, therefore, is not the
meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person's
life at a given moment.
Viktor E. Frankl

Late Night TV
I have the TV on and Jimmy Kimmel Live is currently on. I don't actually watch these shows most times, but it just happens to be on right now and I've been too busy to change channels. Martin Short is on talking to Jimmy and I love Martin Short... he's so funny!! The above quote is what Martin said. He also said:
"I have 3 children.... 1 of each."
He and Jimmy are currently wrestling on the floor and Martin poured a glass of water on Jimmy's face. These guys are nuts... LOL.

Dreaming

As I've told you in previous posts here, I would love to renovate my home, especially the kitchen and the bathroom. I want to make both larger and install more cupboards in both. My towels currently reside on a shelf I put up in the bathroom, right above the toilet. I want to have a much bigger bath tub so I can actually get in and soak without being tied up like a pretzel. I would also consider having one of the pedestal sinks as they look so much nicer than the built in sink/vanity that I currently have. I must say though that the vanity does give some storage space, but I don't like putting stuff there are mice seem to keep getting in there. I've done work to block them from getting in, but there are some places I just can't get to so can't put tin or that spray stuff in. If I got to do the renovations I want to do, I could block all wholes where mice can get in. I'm pretty sure the bathroom is the last place they can get in, I think I've blocked the rest up.
At this time, renovations are, for me, just a dream.... and as Carl Sandburg said, "Nothing happens unless first a dream..."

Quotes
All of life is a journey; which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there. From A Little Book of Happiness
When you realize how perfect everything is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky. Buddha

Daily Inspiration: It's not what you look at that matters it's what you see. ~Henry David Thoreau
Today’s Affirmation: I see only the nectar of love illuminating all the forms of the universe.
Today's Spiritual Contemplation: For many years now society has appreciated the incredible photos from the Hubble Space Telescope; these photos are adjusted into a visible light spectrum. For generations we have been treated to Kirlian photography showing the light emitted by living organisms. Is it really such a stretch to imagine that all we look upon emanates such a light? And is it really such a stretch to imagine being able to see it with the naked eye? This light of love is all around and visible when we choose to see it.

Daily Inspiration: You cannot kindle a fire in any other heart until it is burning in your own. ~Unknown
Today’s Affirmation: Now and always I live from my clear source connection.
Today's Spiritual Contemplation: Through inner practices; reading contemplation, meditation, spiritual communion we keep the inner fires burning hot. Sometimes I find it especially necessary to go deep, stir up the coals and burn off some deep and lingering feelings of darkness in order to show up for certain ‘difficult’ people. Before bringing peace to another I must start with myself - always.
