Working

As many of you already know, I do occasionally post ads on my blogs. I used to post them for Pay Per Post, as well as for PayU2Blog. Some time ago, due to a drop in my Page Rank, I found I wasn't getting any work from PPP, so I quit even checking there for any, and have been posting exclusively for PayU2Blog.

With PPP, I usually had to write posts exclusively about the product and my opinion on it, usually told to make it 'favorable' of course. With PayU2Blog, I do occasionally have to do that type of post, but usually am only required to post a link to the advertiser's web site, putting it in a minimum 60 word post. I like this better as I just have to write something that the word or phrase fits into, without an opinion required.

Recently, PayU2Blog decided that in order to continue working for them, all 'employees' must stop working for PPP and others like that. They also require us to remove links and tinyurls from past ads for these other companies from our blogs. Since I only do work for PU2B, I am fine with that first part, though it sure is a lot of work to go through back posts and do all this extra work. We can't label the posts as "Paid" or "Sponsored" or any words like that, we are just to post them as regular posts or we will no longer receive work, this not only a rule with PU2B, but also with PPP and likely other companies of this sort too. I made a label to put them under that has no words of this sort involved and does not use the company name as that is also against the rules. This is good for me as it makes these posts easier to find at a time like this.

With 2,182 posts done on this blog, as well as all the ones on Reba's Run, it's a lot to sort through to find the sponsored ones to make such changes, without, I might ad, removing the links from the PU2B ads I've done. So far, I've done 90 of them today. Not sure just how many more I have to get done here before heading over to Reba's, but think it's a fair bit yet.

Another requirement of continued 'employment' is to change the Discloser Policy as the original one was from PPP, though it has no link back to them or mention of them in any way. I started by making some small changes, then wiped it all out and used all my own words.

Lots of work.... and work I must do, so do it I will. I do enjoy doing the work for PayU2Blog, and I do find the money I earn is much needed in my life. It's not a huge amount, but does add up after some time, so is much appreciated.

I am posting this to all labels that hold old sponsored posts, even when the labels were still allowd to say they were sponsored. Kind of like 'capping them off'. Also to more current labels where I see fit to put them.

Blah, Blah, Blah

Ahhhhhh!!!!! I've been having some frustrating problems with my printer!!! When I go to use it, a lot of the time it has problems grabbing the sheets of paper and moving them down into where they need to be. They're in the proper slot, but something in the printer is malfunctioning. If I reach down inside and play with the 'thing' a bit, it usually will start to pick up the paper and move it through again, but I end up with several sheets of paper being ruined in the process, and often the printed sheet has the printing on slanted, if you know what I mean. I think I need a new printer again, but don't want to go buy one just yet. One day soon though, I'm sure. Good thing I have use of the printer/copier at the Centre, as with all the problems I've had with the last 3 I've had here, if I didn't have the use of that one I'd be sunk.

- I am grateful for the printer I have, I got it for free and it sure is a lot better than nothing at all.

October 16 - Thursday

The weather today was grey, dark, rainy, and yet I still managed to have a great day.

- lately, every day, I get a text message from my cousin Delaine, sending me love and wishes for a good day. How cool is that? Maybe I'll do another post to tell you about my cousins, D & D.

- I spent a good part of the day 'playing' at an online jewelery auction. I've been watching it for a few days now, and today I actually broke down and did some bidding, and yes, some buying. I think I got some really great deals on 4 pairs of earrings, and I look forward to receiving them and actually seeing them in real life. Good thing I'd been saving moneys I've earned online so have some built up in PayPal to be able to make this "investment".

- Later this afternoon, Mewsic (cat) and I took a short nap together, very nice, haha.

- This evening I went to another Toastmasters meeting, the same club as last Thursday, only this was a campfire meeting. Apparently they have these twice a year. It was really nice to sit around a fire on the banks of one of our local lakes, and have our meeting. Instead of the normal table topics, we each took turns telling a ghost story. After hot chocolate and eats, we listened to 2 speeches, both very well presented, then discussed some club stuff. It was a great evening.

- I'm wondering if some of those PS3 games would be about swatting flies. My house is thick with them and I'm wanting them gone.

October 15 - Wednesday

I had another good day.
- I did some housework, much needed here.
- Dan came to visit. While here he fixed my storm door as it wouldn't close properly. He also took my desktop computer home with him to reformat it and put some new programs on, things along those lines.
- I let Reba in from her run, then went out there and did a bunch of cleaning up of her... errr, 'evidence'. When I came in I was NOT happy to find she'd been entertaining herself in the garbage bag, there was garbage strung all over the kitchen and living room floors. She went back out!!
- One thing I didn't do was to check out hotel in las vegas, but you might want to.
- This evening, I went to visit the Toastmasters club that meets on Wednesday evenings. They are all very friendly and nice, but I think I don't feel as comfortable as I did with the club I visited last Thursday. I'm still not going to rush into anything, but at this point am pulling towards the one on Thursdays. I like the feel in that club, I like that I can help the club to rebuild, the feeling of being needed. Also, they are going to check and confirm, but the position of VP Membership might be available and that is the executive position I had at my former club. That would be cool to be able to step right into that roll in the new club. I think that the Thursday night club might also be a club where I can most easily meet my goals in this area while helping the club to meet there goals.
- I got an email from the VP of Education from my old club, offering to meet over tea so she can sign the projects in my manuals that I've already done in that club this year. I think that was considerate, and perhaps a gesture of friendship.
- I should be getting my refund of dues from the Toastmasters club I left... any day now. Then I can give them to the new club.

October 14 - Tuesday

I had a really great day!!

- My long time friend, Graig, came by to visit. We drank tea, talked, and even got a really good start on writing a 10 minute play. I will finish it myself now, and I will act the lead part at Pasta Productions Talent Night on November 28.
- While Graig was here, another long time friend, Dave, called on the phone. I haven't heard from him in many months, so was surprised to hear from him.
- One thing I didn't do was look for egg nog recipes, but you might want to.
- Later on, I went to town. I went to vote and ran into Dave, haha. He had already done his voting earlier in the day, before he phoned me, but was on his way in to his Barber Shop Quartet singing practice.
- Met with friends, and met new friends, and we went to a really beautiful spot out on one of the lakes here. We were able to drive a fair ways in, but then had to walk a long ways (it was a lot longer on the way back out, haha, it was all uphill on the way back). Once on the beach we lit a small fire as it was rather chilly out. Most of us had taken our drums out with us, so we formed a circle around the fire, holding hands, and send a prayer, then out came the drums. We spent a fairly long time out there drumming and singing spiritual song. It was a truly awesome evening of about 3 1/2 hours. After putting the fire out by dousing it with water, we made the hike out.

It was a very special day!!
