What's in a Hospital?

What are some of the things you would find in a hospital? Well, I guess other than the regular equipment for x-rays, mammograms, blood tests, and stuff like that you find lots of beds, nurses, doctors, orderlies, and other people that help us when we are injured, sick, or having babies. There is the gift shop where you can buy baptism gifts for children, books & magazines, ornaments, flowers, etc. to give to your friend or family member that is in the hospital, or even for yourself while you are there visiting.

So, you might be wondering why I would be thinking about the hospital. Well, because of one other thing that is in our local hospital... my dear & valued friend Donna Jean. I got a phone call from her husband Rolland yesterday saying that DJ had a minor heart attack. Today I called the hospital and found out that she is in CCU (Cardiac Care Unit) so only immediate family members can visit her. This makes it all seem rather more serious than 'minor heart attack' sounded. I sure hope she will soon be well again.

I also have another, longer time friend, Wanda, whom I value very highly and who is also in hospital, though not here. Wanda had a brain aneurysm earlier this month and is very lucky to still be alive. Fortunately, she was in the Vancouver area at the time she had the aneurysm and was close to the big hospitals there and the specialists in that field. My former husband, Everett, had a brain aneurysm in 1999 and was not so lucky. He passed away at age 44, just a few days after 'the event'.
