Camera Critters

Camera Critters is a Sunday Meme/Challenge that is all about animals/critters. Each week we post a photo, or photos, of an animal, then link back to the Camera Critters web site. We also go see what others who are taking part have posted.

I took this photo in October 2007, in a town called New Denver, in the Kootenay region of BC. I thought it pretty fantastic that the town allows chickens inside the town limits. Gotta love that.

Happy Day!!!

I agree, very cool that roosters can run around the town. Does the city clean up after them? I bet they get noisy first thing in the morning. :o)

Great Camera Critters share!

Imagine having chickens in your yard! It might be good for keeping insects at bay, but I am pretty sure my dog wouldn't be happy!

If you would like to visit my Camera Critters, they are here and here.

Your picture of Upper Arrow lake is pretty awesome too, been there.

That is a very clever way to post a reflection! I will have to remember that!

Rhea - thanks for the visit. These are hens, not roosters, and they do belong to someone there. I've had chickens and let them free range like that. As the sun goes down they all return to their coup to sleep. The yard they were in is likely where they live, or very close to it.

Kahshe Cottager - thanks for visiting and leaving your words behind. Yes, it is good for getting rid of bugs. This year, having no chickens in my yard, I've had a lot of earwigs. My dog never minded having the chickens and really had no interest in chasing them once she realized that they don't play well, haha. Some breeds of dogs do like to chase for killing though.

Ratmommy - yes, they sure do look content don't they. "Hens At Home", haha. Thanks for dropping by.

Peppylady - Awesome!! It's so cool to have someone say "I've been there" on here. I love visiting in that area, it's so beautiful and historic. I am also thinking about getting a passport. Gee, maybe I'll blog about that, haha. Some of us will blog about anything, won't we. I don't drink coffee, but have been known to take my own tea with me... and often break out the coffee for company!! haha.

Storyteller - Ya, I guess it would drive most people nuts to hear the chickens & roosters. I like the sounds mostly. I had my own chickens for years, and never found that they woke me up... but then not much does until I'm ready to wake, haha.

Babooshka - Thanks for the visit and the nice comment. Wouldn't that be a wonderful life? Just wander at will and eat whatever looks good. A chicken never has to count calories... must be nice!

Quilly - as this is the comment area for Camera Critters, I am assuming you put your comment in the 'wrong place', haha. Or maybe not... As I look at this photo of the chickens, I remember the trip I took with Mom. I guess that is reflecting, isn't it. Hahaha.
