The weaving is done and this table runner "Champagne and Roses" is off the loom. I'm going to do the final finishing on it later.
The reason I used the header cord at the end is to keep the warp threads under control and in place until I zigzag them into place. If I was leaving the ends out I would hand hem stitch them, but they will be turned under and hand sewn in place. I will show pictures as I do it... later.
Here I was cutting it off the loom. Always an exciting time as the new creation is almost finished. After doing the sewing, machine and hand, I will "wet finish" it. This means hand wash it and iron it until it's almost dry. It gives a very nice, finished look to the item. The last thing to do is to cut off any little ends that have been left during the weaving.
So, tomorrow, after I get home from doing several "must do"s in town, I will start to measure the warp for my next project, also a table runner. I was going to do it taupe and blue, but am now planning to use white and blue as it will make it look a little brighter. It can always be a challenge for me to decide on the colors to use... sigh. :o)

So beautiful - I can't wait to see it when you're completely done.
Very pretty! Are the colours accurate in the photo? I'm seeing a mauve and pale grey.
wow, totaly impressed!! it looks lovely.
Thanks ladies. :o)
MCM, yes, they are fairly close to what you see here. The warp is called Champagne and is a pale taupe like color, maybe a bit more to the beige than the gray. The weft is basically a rose type pink that's fairly vivid. I'm not terribly good at describing colors and wish I could post the actual threads to the blog, lol. I wonder if I put them on a white background and took a picture if they would show true... hmmm, I'll have to give that a try.
