Okay... so I haven't gotten much done yet on the weaving of this table runner, but a big part of the job is done once the measuring and tying on are finished.I wove the first 3" in straight twill, then put in a header cord to cause a space in the weaving. then I wove a small bit in "the pattern", what I will be doing the major part of the table runner in. At this point, for the weft, I am using the same thread as I did for the warp. I will soon switch to another color for the major part of the project.
I am now "hem stitching" on both sides of the header cord. I finished the "near" side and am working on the "far side" as you can see in the picture. I am doing the "ladder" stitch, stitching together groups of 4 threads... the same 4 on each side of the header cord.
This is my cordless screwdriver that I use for winding the weft thread onto the bobbins, with a bobbin in the process of being filled; a tube of rose colored Orlec; 2 empty bobbins; 2 bobbins filled with rose and 1 bobbin filled with champagne colored Orlec.
The same filled bobbins; 3 empty bobbins; a tube of each color Orlec; 2 boat shuttles that the bobbins go into for weaving the weft through the warp.
