Ready to Weave

Here is the "breast beam" of my loom. The "cloth beam" is here too, but can barely be seen. Anyway, the warp threads are tied onto the metal bar which is attached to the cloth beam. You can see how the threads are far apart, in groups tied to the metal bar. Then that ugly orange stuff (header cord) is woven in, bringing all the warp threads together to where they are ready to be woven.

Another view of the warp and header cord so you can see how it brings the threads together.

This is a view of the back of the loom. The warp threads go over the "back beam" and roll onto the "warp beam". I use rolls of cardboard between my warp threads on the warp beam, others use other things, but everyone uses something to keep the warp threads even on the beam, or they would tangle among each other and make for a very uneven warp.

Once upon a time I had a housemate with a loom like this. We kept it against a window in the dining room.

In answer to your friend's blogging trouble question, I must say that I'm sorry, 'cause I have no idea!

Hmmm this is really strange. I was sure I had answered this comment from you Wildside, but now I see there is no answer to it here. Strange. Oh well... Maybe I wrote about it in another post and am just too tired right now to remember, LOL>

I used to have my loom by a window too, but it's not now. I miss that, but it fits better here.

Re the friend with the blog problem, she figured it out. Thanks much.
