Toastmasters Tonight

Tonight at my Toastmasters meeting, we had a lot of 'stuff' about New Years and resolutions. You see, tonight is the first night back after the holidays for our club. It was supposed to be last Tuesday, but we had to cancel the meeting due to bad weather.... heavy snowfall and icy, dangerous roads. So tonight we followed the same schedule as we would have last week, so the people who didn't get to do their speeches did them tonight, the people who would have evaluated them last week did so tonight, and so on. The Table Topics Master asked questions that I'm sure she would have asked last week, too, as they were all based on New Years, resolutions we made, things we want to do this year. There were many different things people talked about, including travel, though surprisingly, none said anything about going to vegas. I got to do a Table Topic on what I want to do this year, then I was an evaluator for a speech, and I also gave the Closing Thought, read a short writing from the Creative Thought magazine which I get each month through my Spiritual Centre. The person giving the Closing Thought also brings the Snack. Not all Toastmaster clubs have a snack, but ours does. So tonight was my turn and I bought a big bag of Dad's Cookies, covered in Chocolate.
