I think that feeling & expressing gratitude is very important in our lives. After all, when we are given something, why would the giver (God, in my belief is behind all) want to give to you again? So, whether it is God, or whether it is a friend, a relative, a spouse I think it is important to express gratitude. Having said that, I do think a lot about being grateful and I have kept a daily gratitude list and occasionally still do sit down and write a list of gratitudes.
A new thing I am going to do on my blog is a daily (at least a most daily) Gratitude post. I won't list EVERYTHING I am grateful for each day, but will choose one big thing most days and occasionally list several smaller things.
Today I am very grateful for the new floor in my living room. Early in December, if you read this blog regularly you already know, I bought a bunch of laminate flooring (720 sq. ft.) on a good sale. Then, before Christmas my friend Dan started to install it for me. My living room is just under 12 feet wide by 18 feet long. He started at the north end of the room, going across the entire width, and got about 7 1/2 feet of the 18 feet done, then went away to Victoria for Christmas, then to Arizona with a friend of his. He just got back this past weekend. He came by to visit Saturday, then Sunday morning came here before I went to my Spiritual Centre. I helped him to move things out of the way, then off I went and he worked while I was gone. When I got home there was only around 2-3 more feet to be done. This morning Dan came over and did that last few feet x the nearly 12 feet wide, and the little area leading into the kitchen. This last bit of the living room was difficult as a hole had to be cut for the furnace vent, and laminate pieces had to be cut lengthwise and fit in between the last piece of laminate and the wall. Tight and a bit of a challenge from what I could tell watching Dan work. I have some photos I'll share with you, but not tonight. I have to download some from my camera, get some from the computer, and post them for you, which all takes time I don't have tonight.
I am grateful that I had the money to buy the laminate and the underpad.
I am grateful for the really good sale so I was able to buy the laminate.
I am grateful to Dan for installing this for me. (VERY big)
I am grateful to finally have that filthy, dirty, worn, stained, ugly (well, you get the picture) carpet GONE.
I am grateful that I will soon have the laminate in the kitchen too... and beyond.

Oh let me know, okay?, when you have the photos posted. I bet it looks so pretty!!!
You know, I spend a lot of time thinking how grateful I am, but I don't know that I express it enough -- especially to my family and friends.
