Opening Doors

Jientje at Heaven In Belgium is hosting a photo challenge this week, Monday to Saturday. It's "Opening Doors". Why don't you take a moment to pop on over and check it out.

Bigger really can be better

I'm late posting this today. I usually post it the night before, as I do with all memes/challenges, due to the difference in time zones. I'm in about the 2nd or 3rd from last in time zones, so the day is over in some parts of the world before it really starts here.

Yesterday I was in town and was able to take the time to walk around and get some new door shots. Now this challenge could go on for another week or so and I'd be prepared, haha.

Vernon provincial Court House built in 1911. The finest example of granite construction in the Valley (or so it says in the history book I borrowed).

When standing facing the main door, if you turn to your left, you will be facing this door.

When standing facing the main door, if you turn to your right, you will be facing this door.

Click to enlare this one if you'd like to read what it says. This plaque is on the right of the main door.

On the same plaque you will find this photo of 'the way it was'. Unfortunately, some people have taken the time and effort to put cigarette burns on the plexiglass that covers these things, but you can still get a pretty good look at it.

The view from the top of the stairs, looking west. The "water feature" is in Justice Park.

Around the corner, on the south end of the building, is another door. This one has wheelchair access, though the ramp doesn't show in either of the photos.
This one is from my archives. I took it June 1, 2007. It is taken from across the street in Justice Park.

If you are posting Opening Doors and have a door(s) for me to come see, please leave your link on Mr. Linky.
Comments from everyone are appreciated.
