Manic Monday - 1000 or One Thousand

Today, Morgen (a.k.a. Mo) at It's A Blog Eat Blog World, has given us the word 1000 or one thousand to post about and have some fun with for his Manic Monday Meme (or Challenge, if you prefer). With my recent schedule I'd all but forgotten about Manic Monday for this week, then was reading the emails I got today and 'Walla'! So I had to post what reminded me to post, haha.

Retirement Planning

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00.

With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1000.00 worth of beer/wine
one year ago, drank all the beer/wine, then turned in the cans/bottles for the aluminium recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to Drink heavily and recycle.

Let people you care about know...

If you're in Michigan, you can turn in your empty beer cans for a 10 cent bottle deposit refund, so you might even make more than the $214!
