I've always found that I learn more when I'm enjoying myself than I do if I'm wishing I was "anywhere else but here", and I've noticed with many children in my life over the years (my nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends children, children at church), they all want to have fun and all need to learn. Why not combine the latter with the former and get better results?
In my 50s I still love to read every chance I get, and to take classes in various things. I still am a very slow reader who finds it embarrassing to have to read out loud in a classroom situation, and when the class is given a hand out and told to read it quickly. A few minutes later, most have finished reading, the instructor continues the lecture, and I'm only about 1/4 of the way down the page. I sure wish I could have had help from Score Learning Centers when I was a kid.
