I Am Grateful

Tuesday May 5th goes down in my books as another wonderful day.

After getting to sleep very late, I slept rather late, then did the usual emails and such that 'blew' the rest of the morning.

In the afternoon I went to town and did my Aqua Therapy at the pool. It was very nice, the second time I've gone and some exercises were the same while some were different. Felt good to my body and my mind. Unfortunately, we were told that from now until September, there will be no afternoon session on Mondays, and starting June, there will be no afternoon sessions at all until September. There is no way I will be going there to be in the pool by 8:30am. Just doesn't happen in my life. While in the pool, I noticed a friend from the Centre was in the observation area, her son was taking a swimming lesson, so when the class was over I went to chat with her for awhile. Lynn is new to the Centre and is someone I really like, very interesting, intelligent, upbeat, friendly, and is the type to get involved rather than just sit on the sidelines and let others do all the work. Then I went for a soak in the hot tub... ahhhhh. While there I got into a conversation with a fellow named Kevin. Very enjoyable talk, and I stayed there much longer than I'd planned, sitting on the edge when too hot, then back into the water again. First, he and another fellow were talking computers and I jumped in to that... then it evolved to Kevin & I talking Spirit & spiritual stuff. We apparently have a lot of the same beliefs and agreed on most if not all each other said in this area. He said he'll check out the Centre for Spiritual Living and our bookstore, seemed happy to hear about us. I would like to see him/talk to him again, whether in the hot tub, at the Centre, or..... (even over dinner), though would I recognize him with his clothes on? Haha. and with his longish blonde hair dry instead of wet and pasted to his head.

I forgot Dan was coming over after he got off work, so I missed him and his phone call... ooops. Oh well, we'll catch up anyway. I was driving to the dog park to walk with Reba when I realized it was Tuesday... Toastmasters night, and it was 6pm, so had to abandon that idea. Came home to change and get ready for my evening out, then off I went. I was to be the Tabletopics Master for the evening and had forgotten to prepare questions for the nights topic of May Day. I had about 4 in my head, and knew I needed more. Carol had left a message for me to call her, so I did and she told me some things about the Horse Rescue group we are involved with, then I told her my dilema and she was sitting at her computer so looked some things up and gave me lots of info on events happening in May, so I was able to tell about the events then ask a question related to those events. Not exactly 'May Day', though still in keeping with the 'May' theme, and how many questions can one ask about a holiday rarely celebrated around where we live. It went very well. I also was the General Evaluator of the evening. It was a very good evening.

Called Carol on the way home again, and talked more about the Horse Rescue. Told her we (Toastmasters) meet in a Chamber of Commerce office, so I was able to grab lots of tourist brochures for our area and towns/cities around here, so we can see how many of them have horse related events we can go to to promote our group that we are just forming. We also need to find a new name for it (very long story), so I was/am hoping we might get a good idea from reading these brochures/magazines. While still talking, I arrived home and ended up on the computer playing MahJongg again as we talked, then after hanging up I did some research on Stevia for a talk I'm giving on it tomorrow morning... lots of work left before I do it. By the time I got to bed, read a bit from a Toastmaster manual (need to prepare a speech for next Tuesday to fill in a vacancy and to accomplish my next award before end of June) it was about 3:30am, and even after I turned out the light I couldn't get to sleep for quite some time. Tossed and turned for a long time, having a challenge slowing my brain down.

I had to light the pellet stove last night, was amazed at how chilly it was in here, low 60s F. I don't think I've ever had to turn on the heat in May before.
