Three Word Thursday #12

Each week, Quilly gives us three words to write into a story. Oh, they're not just any words, not words you'd hear/see ever day. Nope, these are obscure words, endangered words. Before we can write to these words, we have to find them on the internet so as to find out their meaning so they can be used properly. This week's words are:

She lay in the grass just beside the woods, rather much under a tree, crying her eyes out when she heard a deep male voice, "May I be of service to you Madame?" Looking up through the blur of her tears, Kate blinked a few times, then saw him. He sat on top of a large, white horse with a strange looking bridle and saddle, and stranger yet was that the sun was glinting off the metal that clothed every inch of his long body.

"Hey, who are you?" she queried, then added "And what's with the horse? Don't you know there's a law against horses in the parks? Their hooves can cut holes in the grass... and they could shi, errr, poop on the grass." She was off and running on... and on, caught up in a prolix rant of all the invidious laws that were implemented by the intransigent government and law makers of her time. Sitting quietly upon his horse, listening to her rant, the paladin had not answered her questions. He'd had no opportunity to do so as she hadn't shut up long enough for him to get a word in edgewise.

Sir Gibbs had been riding along, minding his own business when he discovered the road had been washed out by a flood, so he took a detour which led him down a trail he'd never ridden before. As he'd ridden between some tall rocks there had been a strange, blue flash of light and suddenly things seemed different. Now for 3 days he had been in this strange land. It seemed in many ways to be the land where he'd lived all his life, and yet there were so many things that were different. Even this maiden was odd. The unchaste clothing she wore that not even lowly peasant would wear seemed to be the normal dress here, and the more than odd way she spoke, somewhat offensive to the ears. There were also those ugly, noisy machines they rode around in, with no horses to pull them. In fact, he'd not seen one horse since that strange flash of blue light. He had this peculiar feeling that he was no longer in his own time.

And still she babbled on....
