I Am Grateful

Okay... my finger, though still sore, is feeling much better tonight, so I can again type.

Yesterday, I went to Sunday Service at Okanagan Centre for Spiritual Living, where I read the Healing Inspiration & Treatment. I always like it when I'm part of the service. Rev. Dale gave a great talk, as usual. After the service, we had our monthly Pot Luck Lunch which was fabulous.

My friend Wilson came from a city near here, for a visit. It's been several months since I've seen him, so was nice. We took Reba to the dog park for a walk, went to Superstore so I could buy a few groceries I needed, then out here to visit for nearly 2 hours.

I was feeling very tired all evening, so sat here watching TV, visited blogs to read stories my blog friends have written, did some blogging, things like that.

Today I discovered that they chickens had gotten out of their tractor, the small doors to the nest boxes had come open. I tried to catch them to no avail, so left them out for the day, knowing that at the end of day they would go back in on their own.

Drove in to town to the Rec. Centre and did some water walking, a good way to get exercise, and be easy on the body. While there I got a form for my Dr. to fill out so I can take the Aqua Therapy class. After that, I went to Hannah's to practice a song with her, it's a really funny song that she wrote the music to as well as 1 verse. She needed someone to do some different comical laughs during it. While there, we wrote some more words to it, and had a lot of fun. Made some good progress and plan to get together on Fridays and Mondays until Pasta Productions when we will preform this for the audience.

I drove back downtown to my Dr. office to drop off that form, pick up 2 lab requisitions for upcoming blood tests to do with the diabetes, and go to the drug store in the same building to get test strips for the glucometer (the machine for testing blood sugars). I was also going to get Lancets (the things for poking myself to get the blood for the tests), but realized I didn't have my wallet, though I'd had it earlier in the day. I knew I either left it at the pool or Hannah's, phoned Hannah and got her machine as she was teaching a piano student so left her a message. Also called the Rec. Centre and found it was not there at the desk or in the locker I'd used. A little later I was sO relieved when Hannah phoned me back and said the wallet was at her house. I went right away and picked it up.

I went to WalMart where I picked up some tetra packs for apple juice to carry with me in case of low blood sugar (as recommended by diabetic nurse), also got the Lancets there and a bottle of water. Wendy came down there so we had tea together & Carol joined us after a bit. Was fun.

From WalMart, Reba & I went up to the dog park for a very nice walk.... then stopped to buy some apples & bananas on the way home. Shortly after I drove into the yard, Lily & Speckles (chickens) went into their enclosure (chicken tractor), so I went and closed it up. I also fixed the doors they got out of so that won't be likely to happen again, and I collected the one egg in the nest. This was the first egg Speckles has given me since they came to live here, and I was delighted. I used to have my own chickens, and I gave the last of them away about a year and a half ago. I kept loosing them to eagles and couldn't stand it any more. Now I can keep them safer, so am getting some again. After having the wonderful fresh, tasty eggs from my own chickens for several years, I found I couldn't stand to eat the flavorless rubber things the stores sell as eggs. Tonight, for dinner, I had 1 wonderful poached egg, toast & peanutbutter. That egg was heaven.

- I am grateful for the Okanagan Centre for Spiritual Living
- I am grateful for all I learn at the Centre
- I am grateful to be involved with the growth of such a special organization as the Centre
- I am grateful for the company of Wilson on my walk with Reba, and later in my home
- I am grateful Wilson & I have been friends since 1997
- I am grateful for the sunshine, blue sky & warm weather for the walk
- I am grateful I got out and got exercise
- I am grateful for the time I spent reading wonderful stories on other blogs
- I am grateful for the free pass to the pool I was given, good for 6 months and renewable then by the diabetes nurse.
- I am grateful I finally 'forced' myself to go to the pool
- I am grateful for the fun & laughter with Hannah today
- I am grateful to have my wallet back, safe and sound
- I am grateful for the visit with Wendy & Carol
- I am grateful my chickens are safe and sound, back in their enclosure (not eagle lunch)
- I am grateful for the awesome egg I found in the nest box today
- I am grateful for the food I ate today
- I am grateful for the clothes I wore
- I am grateful for my laptop computer
- I am grateful for the comfort of my armchair
- I am grateful for my home. As I type this, I am listening to the news on TV, about the earthquake in Italy. This also makes me think of the homeless in our own country. My friends, we are so fortunate, and have so much to be grateful for. Since you all obviously have computers and internet (or you wouldn't be here reading this), I think it's safe to presume you have a home to live in and all the things that go with that. Yes, we have so much to be grateful for.
