These photos were all taken on February 24, 2008.
They are of the Lake I see out my windows. In summer I have done Dragon Boating on this lake, and on the day of these photos I drove my truck on it. In winter, many things happen on this lake, including car races as you see here. The people drive their trucks out onto the lake, pulling the race cars on trailers behind them, then unload and spend the day racing on the ice.
About to drive out... getting up my nerve

Made sure I got the rear view mirror in this shot so you can actually see my truck on the lake without me getting out. Guess I was lazy that day
I had planned to drive out on the lake again this winter, further than the first time, and I never did get around to doing it. It is far past time for that now and the ice, though still on the lake, is very thin, and melted away to open water in many places around the edges of the lake.

Great shots. It still looks pretty cold. Happy WW
Wow, such wide open spaces. I love the one with the little colorful cars all in a road.
L is for de-Lurking and Longing to find out the real story behind the photos.

Wow - looks fun and cold and a little scary! Thanks so much for participating!
I wouldn't drive out on ice no matter how thick. But you certainly got beautiful pictures.
