It was a full and wonderful day today.
I met with 2 gals from the Volunteer Bureau that will be helping me with Pasta Productions. I gave them a tour of The Centre, and told them what I have in mind. They both seem happy to be on board with it. One gal said she has a friend that wants to do some volunteer work too, so will tell her and give her my number if she's interested in this. One other person that I'd left a message for called me and left me a message. I got it late this eve, so will call back tomorrow.
While at the Centre doing the above, I also did up the Sunday Programs and printed them off. Lorraine came in to help me put them together.
I went and got my eye glasses adjusted. Gerry said they were way off, and that yes, this likely was behind my 9 days of migraine headaches. Since then, I've felt sO much better. Next time I get a headache like that, I'm going to see Gerry on day 1 or 2 if it takes me that long, but NOT on day 9 ever again.
I did a bit of shopping, just a couple small things, then rushed home to change and get ready for Toastmasters, then off I went to that meeting for the evening. I was the Table Topics Evaluator tonight, so evaluated 7 short, impromptu speeches, then got up and verbally delivered the evaluations. After the meeting, 3 of us went to look at a hall where we will be holding the Area Contest for speeches & evaluations. I've entered the speech contests before, and didn't want to this time, just not enough time right now to put into preparing and all that stuff. However, I did get 'sucked into' agreeing to compete in the Evaluator Contest part of it.
I am in charge of planning the Area Speech Contest. First is the Club level, then all winners from the clubs in our Area will come together on April 3 for the Area level contest which our club is hosting, and this is what I am going to be doing the planning and such for. Like I have time!! Oh well, I need this to complete a project in my Competent Leadership manual and if I pass on this, it could be a long time before I have another opportunity. Also, I might learn some stuff from this that I can use with Pasta Productions which will be on April 24.
Soooo... it's been a full and busy day. Oh ya, I also did a bit of house work... a very little bit, lol.
- I am grateful for this wonderful day.
- I am grateful for the help of volunteers to make Pasta Productions happen.
- I am grateful the Sunday Programs are done up early this week.
- I am grateful for Lorraine's help with the Programs lately.
- I am grateful for Gerry fixing my glasses.
- I am grateful, oh so very grateful, that my head is feeling good and pain free.
- I am grateful Paco is quiet!!! (Forgot to tell you, Paco has been a very loud, squealing parrot lately. Today I was threatening to eat Paco Bell for dinner... nice fresh Paco Burgers. He wasn't afraid and kept squealing!! He's sleeping now.)
- I am grateful for all the learning and growing opportunities that are unfolding in my life (with ease and harmony).
- I am grateful for the comfort and warmth of my home... and I am very grateful that I just remembered the pellet stove needs to be 'fed' before it runs out of pellets and quits... any moment now. It was nearly empty when I checked, and I forgot to feed it.
- I am grateful for all of you!!
EDIT: I am grateful for the opportunity to clean my cold pellet stove before relighting it. (yup, I was too late).

Alice -- and you're grateful to me for coming to tell you that it's alphabet time! I used to do Melli's challenge, then come over here to see what you were doing for your challenge, but lately you've been tardy!
Hooorraaay...for your headaches subsiding. That's great news :)
Bad glasses will give you a bad headache. It is a good thing you got them adjusted.
I used to coach debate and judge high school speech tournaments so all your speaking activities sound really interesting.
