I Am Grateful

This was a GREAT day... my head felt good all day!!

This morning I went to town to an 11am appointment with Della, the Diabetes Nurse, and after we had our meeting, my Dr. came in for awhile to see how things are going. Della was very impressed with my blood sugar levels as for the most part they are all in the acceptable area. She did, however, caution me on the ones that were a bit low, and told me to carry food with me all the time, never go too long between eating, and to have something with me to bring my BS back up quickly if it falls. She said low BS is worse than high, that the high will always come back down, but low can be dangerous. It was a very interesting/informative meeting. Dr. P told Della that I'm very smart, so that was nice of him to say. I think I shocked Della when she was asking what my major concerns are and I didn't really have any. I told her that I know most people she sees likely think that being diagnosed with diabetes think it's terrible, but that I see it as no big deal, and even as an opportunity. She asked what opportunity, and I told her it's an opportunity for me to learn to take better care of myself, and to get healthier.

After that, I went to insure my truck for another year. The last 2 years in a row I was able to pay 100% of the cost, but this year I wasn't, so paid the majority of it and put the rest on monthly payments. With interest rate of 1.5% it's no big deal to do it this way.

I came home for a couple hours, then off to town again.

I had a 5pm meeting with the Okanagan Horse Rescue group. It is a new group forming to help educate people with horses that are not being taken proper care of, and if it comes down to the SPCA having to take the horse from their owners, then this group will do fostering and nursing the horses back to health as well as finding them new homes. I had to leave the meeting early to go to class, but am happy to be doing something to help some of the animals I love.

I left the Horse Rescue meeting about 6:30 to go to the last class of Spiritual Fitness. A wonderful class as always. I very much enjoyed taking this series of classes, and will continue to work with the things I learned, and plan to read the book again several times... when I can. I also picked up the book "Find Your Passion" which is the book for the next series of classes, which will run every Wednesday evening of April.

I started to write my Portrait of Words this afternoon while I was home, wrote more during class (I use my computer to take notes, and sometimes slip away to do things I shouldn't do during class). I finished it and posted it after I got home this evening. Then I helped Reba with her 3 Woof Thursday, and wrote my Three Word Thursday. So much for the plan to get to bed early tonight.

Now, I'm off to feed all my critters and head off to bed. Oh ya, DW is getting very close to laying some eggs. I thought she was laying today, but she didn't. She is showing all the signs though. I wish she'd let Paco fertilize them for her but it doesn't look good for that just yet. He keeps screaming a lot lately which is driving me crazy. I think it's because of DW in the nesting mode. I told him today to just man up, grab hold of her and just fu.... oh, never mind.
