Daylight Saving Time

See what I got this evening?? Nice, but a day late, lol.

This morning, my phone rang at 7:30am! I wondered who the heck would be rude enough to phone at that early hour of the morning. My alarm was set for 8:30 so I could get up and ready to go to the Centre for Spiritual Living, but that was an hour away. I answered the phone to find it was my friend Lorraine, calling to see if I could pick her up and give her a rid to the Centre for the service this morning. That is also when she reminded me the time had changed and we are now of Daylight Savings Time.

I love being on Daylight Savings Time, as it means we have an extra hour of daylight in the evenings when I like it most. Some say we have an extra hour of daylight... not so. We get one hour less in the morning in order to get the hour extra in the evening... so still same number of hours in a 24 hour period.

I actually think changing our clocks is a stupid thing to always be having to do twice a year. "In the fall, the clock falls back, and it the spring it springs ahead." In the fall we get an extra hour of sleep on that one night, and in spring we loose an hour of sleep on that one night. I really don't see why we don't just leave it alone. I'd like to be on what is called Daylight Savings Time all year round. I'd even be okay with 'meeting in the middle' and have the half hour more in evening rather than full hour, and leave that year round.

I yet to have any politician ask me what I think or want on any subject, never mind the time issue.

Well we never move our clocks, get the same amount of sleep year round and seem to be doing fine. Or maybe it's the pineapples that make us do fine...
