Wordzzle Challenge

My Main Wordzzle Challenge:

There was a rage of fear on Wall Street when the word came through that the economy was crashing. The author of Fluffer-Doodle Magazine looked like he had eaten lemons with his cookies and milk. The dream of riches had been illusory. Later that day, he checked into the Pine Cone Motel, off route 101, his luggage a rope and a note, his plan to hang himself from the railing outside his second story room. He checked into his room where he planned to prepare himself for this event. As he looked around the sparse, dreary room, he saw, sitting on the table to the right of the door, a candelabra, as well as a channel changer laying near the pillow on the bed. He sat down, flicked the TV on and began to watch the Bugs Bunny cartoons that were playing on the last channel watched by the previous tenants. As a young boy he had always loved Bugs Bunny cartoons, and now was transported, in his memory, back to the days of his boyhood.

My Mini Challenge:

He remembered the wooden shoes his father brought home as a gift when returning from the war... how his mother had loved to flabbergast people with her stories of strange things, such as chimera and other mythical creatures, and how funny Auntie Lou was each time she drank a vodka martini. As these memories floated through his mind, and he remembered how much each of the people in his life loved him, he got up and left the room, the roap still on the foot of the bed... left the motel, and called a cab. He didn't trust himself to drive just yet, though he knew he had to go home to his wife and the little boy so much like he had been at that age.

My Mega Challenge:

Sally James walked briskly down Wall Street one sunny Friday afternoon. She was in a rage, at war with some fluffer-doodle she was forced to work with. What made him think he could be the author of a cook book, especially one where every recipe used lemons? Organic ones none the less!! Sally had been flabbergast when he told her is illusory dream. "The man is no brighter than a channel changer", she thought to herself, "curtainly not the brightest flame on the candelabra. She had to be nice to him as he is a client after all, but now she walked along, breathing fire like a chimera, as she headed to the Wooden Shoes Pub in the Pine Cone Motel where she planned to have a stiff vodka martini or 3 for lunch. With just one block left to go, Sally saw a bus drive by with "TAKE YOUR POWER BACK! DON'T GIVE 'THEM' THE POWER TO CONTROL YOUR LIFE" emblazoned on the side. That is when she remembered the teachings she had been learning at The Centre for Spiritual Living. Suddenly she was no longer upset with her client, heck, if that was his dream she would help him to realize it. She, Sally James, would do all she could do, and she would find a way to make that silly cook book hit the top 10. After all, when you help someone else to realize their dreams, the Universe will help you to realize yours too. Sally turned into the cafe on the corner, picked a seat at a table in the sunshine flooding through the front window, and ordered cookies and milk, along with a tuna fish sandwich.

My Vanity Wordzzle:

Napoleon and Zeus sat upon a cloud together, chatting and eating 47 flavors of ice cream as they looked down upon Earth. They chuckled as Barbara Walters told Arnold Schwartzennager, in no uncertain way, "Don't come near me or I'll call the police!" Each one shook his head sadly as they noticed the cellulite on her legs as Madonna pranced around on the stage wearing nothing but her underpants. They each knew they had the power to return to Earth, and they chose not to. It had become a world they did not understand, and had no interest in trying to fit into.

Due to being away from home all day yesterday, until late night, I didn't get this up on time... and being as the week, as usual, was full and 'crazy', I never thought to write it ahead of time to auto post... so hey it's late, and I would not want to miss posting it even so. I so enjoy this challenge that I 'must' write even if doing it later than most around the world. Hope you enjoy the stories. When I looked at the Vanity Challenge words, my first thought was to skip it, I was somewhat flabbergast with the words. Then, knowing it to be the last Vanity Challenge Raven will be giving us, I jumped right in and discovered it to be much easier than I'd thought. Strange isn't it how that is the case in ever so many things in life.

If you enjoyed this and would like to join in or to read other participants writings, just click on the Wordzzle logo above and check it out.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Next Week's Ten Word Challenge will be: ubiquitous, do you see what I see, getting a word in edgewise, wild goose chase, grandmother of five, Freemasons, Pacific Paradise, everything and nothing, insanity prevails

Mini Challenge: shortening the distance, it’s all about bloggers, the Fortress at Pigeon Falls, finding Pam, a raven’s nest

(Note how these are all blogs of regular Wordzzle participants. How cool is that!!)

I'm glad you figured out how to save the poor guy. I hate stories that end in suicide.
Nice to be able to throw a bit of philosophy into the story isn't it.
If I was a couple of old line Gods I wouldn't want much to do with this crazy place either.
I like all three stories biut for different reasons. Well Done.

Nicely done, Alice. I like the way you continued the first one with the second.

These were all great! I like the way you took the potential tragedy of the first and turned it around. And used the second to give a wise lesson. Well done on the vanity. Back when I was given those words, they were a real challenge for me. I'm not hung up on posting only on Saturday or Sunday. Just visit others and I'm sure they'll return your visit and read these wonderful gems.

Oh WOW what a fantastic job you did! I loved them all but I particularly liked the mini and how sense prevailed and he went home to his family. :)

Dr. John - thanks for the compliments/comments. I always prefer to keep things on the positive, so even if they dip down a bit, the end will (hopefully) be on the upswing.

Quilly - Thanks. I think I got that from your story that continued for more than one day, lol.

Raven - Thanks much for your comments and input, so much appreciated.

Akelamalu - thank you. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

I liked the way the second story brought a happy ending to the first one. Good old Bugs Bunny.
I think next week should be very interesting to see how the blogs will fit in.
