I Am Grateful

This morning, as every Sunday morning, I went to the Okanagan Centre for Spiritual Living. It is so wonderful to walk in there and have so many people greet me, and be happy to see me. I love the hugs I get while there. I did my last reading of the Book of the Month for February. I wish I could have read more of that book before having to give it away, lol. I entered the draw, of course, but was not the winner. Oh well, I'm sure the fellow that did win it was the perfect person to do so. After everyone else left, I stayed for awhile as one gal wanted to buy a couple books and since we are not set up to take credit cards or debit cards (maybe one day, but not yet) she had to go to her bank to get cash. I told her I'd wait while she did so. Once that was done, I locked up and left.

I went to pick up a glider chair from Freecycle. It's actually in really nice shape, though the cushions need to be recovered or replaced. I'll have a closer look at them tomorrow as the chair is still in the truck for now.

I went to Tim Horton's to meet my friend Carol for tea. I was starved by then, so had something to eat too. I talk a lot, but Carol out does even me, so this gave me loads of time to eat while she talked, lol. It was nice to see her as we've both been very busy lately so haven't gotten together for awhile.

After that, I came home. Looking back at the day, I could have gone and walked Reba and taken some photos. I had wanted to take photos of the car races on the lake I see from my home... then I forgot to do so. While there, I could have walked Reba out on the lake too. Hopefully next Sunday they will be racing again as they have been the last several weeks, and hopefully it will be a nice day for photos and walking. I drove my truck out onto the ice last winter and it was really scary, and yet a thrill too. I took some photos from it while out there. This year I want to go a bit further out and get out, walk away a bit, and take shots of it sitting out there on the lake. Having Dragon Boated on this lake, it is strange to drive or walk on it too.

I came home and the phone kept ringing, so kept me talking for awhile. Spent special time with my animals.

Sat in the loom room by the fire tonight and read nearly a chapter from "Spiritual Fitness". I will go to bed soon and read more, hope to finish the chapter before sleeping. Lots of great stuff about meditation in this chapter. Tomorrow I will do homework assignments from the book and that Rev. Dale gave us at our last class. This is the book we're using in my Wednesday evening classes.

- I am grateful for the wonderful morning at the Centre.
- I am grateful for all the Centre means to me, and all the important parts of my life that are connected to the Centre.
- I am grateful to be a part of the Okanagan Centre for Spiritual Living.
- I am grateful for the 'new' chair I have. Though I need to get rid of a lot of stuff, I have only one arm chair in my living room, so do need another chair, or love seat in here.
- I am grateful the one old, scruffy arm chair I have in my living room. It has given me a good place to sit for a long time now.
- I am grateful for my wonderful animals... all 12 of them.
- I am grateful my new parrot, Paco, loves to ride on my shoulder, and that he bonded to me very quickly.
- I am grateful for my pellet stove and the pellets I have stacked in my carport... more than enough for the rest of this winter. I am toasty warm.
- I am grateful for the beautiful view I have from my home.
- I am grateful for the class I'm taking and for the books I am reading.
- I am grateful that I learned to feel comfortable with tithing. It is a wonderful process.
- I am grateful for the compliments I got today on my 'new to me' blouse.
- I am grateful for all the friends I have in my life.
- I am grateful that I phoned Dave, a long time friend who is disabled and living in a care facility.
- I am grateful that I have so many things in my life to be grateful for.
- I am grateful that I know to look inside for my happiness.

You sat in the loom room, reading. Were you supposed to be reading or had you gone in there to clean? I ask because this is what I do. I go to clean, find a book out of place, open it and .... oh well, there's always tomorrow for cleaning.

Carmen/Elaine - Thanks for leaving a comment here... your footprints in the sand of my blogland. I'm really glad you like my blog and that you will keep coming to visit here.

Quilly - I actually was supposed to be reading this time, lol. It was part of my homework from the class I'm taking. The only thing 'different' was that I sat in the loom room by the fire to do the reading. I most enjoyed it, though the chair could be more comfortable.
