ABC Wednesday & Wordless Wednesday

Welcome to this week's Wordless Wednesday

&

It's hard to believe another week has gone by again already, and today is ABC Wednesday. 1/6 of 2009 is already nearly over. Time sure is flying, so guess that means I'm having fun.

Today, the letter is F.

F is for....

Ice Fishing

Looking out from the shore:

Looking back at the shore:
Believe me, none of these guys seemed happy to see me out there. I was not greeted in a friendly manor. Not that they were nasty, just not friendly. No "Hi, how are you."

I walked through a lot of water sitting on top of the ice, and there were some pretty big cracks in the ice too. Neither these guys or any of the several other groups of people out on the lake seemed bothered by it, so I didn't worry either.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!!

Hi Tyra. Thanks for the visit and the great comment. It's actually pretty warm for us, lol. Well, at this time of year anyway. Finally starting to see the end of winter. Glad you like the 'born2cree8', it describes me well.

That looks so cold. The fisherman here don't know they're born.

But I hope all that water on the ice and those big cracks help you to rethink driving your truck out there!

Scary thought! I've seen ice dump people off and into freezing water. Yowie... Good photos!

Babooshka - thanks for visiting. Yes, it was cold, but only because there was a high wind blowing at the time I was out there.

Digital P. - Thank you.

Quilly - actually, the lake I've driven the truck on is not this lake, and it is still more frozen than this one, being a bit further north. I won't go out there with my truck unless I see others out there driving around. There are lots of cars that go out there racing on Sundays. These guys drive their trucks, pulling a trailer behind with the car on... right out onto the lake and unload out there. I figure if they can do that and not have problems, then my little truck will be okay. I for sure won't drive it on the lake where these guys are fishing. It was enough to slop through the water on foot.

Tumblewords - I'm sure than can happen, though this ice is very thick. It will be awhile yet before it goes anywhere or gets really dangerous to be on.

Carol - it's a good thing I had rubber boots on, for sure. I was surprised at how much water there was. However, the ice itself is still thick. The rubber on my boots only goes ankle high, then it's cloth, so I did get wet feet as the water splashed up, but don't tell anyone. lol.
