Productive Day

This has been a fairly productive day. I spent the day at home and actually did some work here. These new floors are having their effect on me, making me want to clean this place up. I have to keep cleaning to stay ahead of Dan so he can keep coming over to put more of the laminate flooring down. He didn't come over today, but is coming tomorrow morning to work more on the kitchen floor while I'm gone out for the day. I have a lot of stuff that has to be moved then the floor washed. I could just move it all to some other pile in some other area, though I really am trying to get it sorted out and dealt with as I go along. It's nearly 11pm now, so I think the rest will have to just be moved and sorted later as I've had about enough for today. As well as doing this, I also cleaned out the fridge and it's freezer compartment today (a very much needed cleaning job).

Tomorrow is Birthday Cake Sunday at the Centre, to celebrate the January birthdays, one of which is mine. No one stepped up to bring the cake, so I have to bake a cake and ice it tonight too. Biggest problem with that is the counter in my kitchen is not only very small, but is at this time also very piled up with stuff that has to be washed/sorted/moved/put away. I greatly dislike my kitchen at any time, and when I'm trying to bake/cook with clutter on the counter it's really aggravating. I had to take pain meds for my back earlier this evening, and I keep having to stop and rest/relax a bit here and there, so it's a bit of a slow go... and progress has been made.

With these new floors the place is looking so much better that it makes me want new furniture: love seat, arm chair, tv stands, book cases, and things like that. Ahhhh, slowly but surely.

EDIT:
At 1:46am, I am laying on my bed with my laptop. The kitchen is cleaned up enough for Dan to work, the floor is washed so he can put the laminate over clean linoleum. The cake is baked and cooling to be iced in the morning before I go. I may have to wash the floor under the stove in the morning too, will see if Dan is going to be doing the floor under it yet or not. Because the cake was higher in the middle than it was at the edges, it broke badly when turned out of the pan, so all I could think to do was put it back into the pan. I will ice it in the pan and it will just have to do. No need for anything super fancy anyway. Besides, wouldn't want to do such a good job that others won't volunteer to make the cakes too some months, lol.
