I Am Grateful

I am grateful for the time I spent with my friend Wendy today. We haven't gotten together lately, due to both our schedules not meshing. Today I texted, she texted back, etc etc, and we met for coffee/tea at the McDonald's in Wal Mart. After sitting there drinking our drinks and yacking for awhile, we went shopping. While Wendy bought food for her 2 German Shepherd dogs, and a couple other little things, I bought a pair of boots (high tops, high heals, thick soles, laces and zippers, on sale $2o), a shower caddy ($20, to organize the bottles in my shower - shampoo, conditioner, Olay moisturizing body wash, Olay body moisturizer, Olay face wash... the Olays from my eldest sister for Christmas suddenly made too many bottles for the side of the tub), a 4 shelf shoe rack ($9, tired of a pile of shoes kicking around... new floors makes for new tidiness). There were several different things we looked at, we didn't see a shoulder pain pump though I'm sure they have just about everything else there. Oh ya, I also returned a kitchen scale I'd bought and decided I couldn't read the thing well enough for my liking.

I am grateful that Wendy and I are friends.
I am grateful for the time we spent together today.
I am grateful I had someone to shop around with for a change.
I am grateful for the new boots, the shower caddy, the shoe rack.
I am grateful I am prosperous enough to be able to make such purchases now.
I am grateful I was able to walk around the store that long and still able to get into my truck without crying in pain.

Friends are wonderful creatures. I miss mine. I have yet to make a good friend in Hawaii -- wait, that's not strictly true, but she lives clear on the other side of the island and our paths don't often cross.
