Today was Reba's 10th Birthday. It's hard to believe she's already 10 years old (70 in dog years), and I am so grateful that she is still healthy and very active. I wanted to take her to the Dog Park today after church, but it was so cold that I was not into spending time outside. For some reason, these temperatures seem worse this year than usual. My truck feels 'stiff' even now that the emergency brake is no longer frozen on, and the stove doesn't seem to be keeping the house as warm as it has in past years.... and it's not even as cold as it can get here. Sheeeesh!! Oh well, life goes on and time will pass.
Church went well today, followed by an fabulous pot luck lunch. There was turkey and sooooo much other food and great deserts, including my bread pudding. I got to bring home lots of left over bread pudding, more than usual, and I am so stuffed now cuz I just ate a bunch of it a bit ago. Didn't mean to make that my supper, but one bite led to a lot more... sigh.
After lunch we had a Board Meeting which seemed to take forever even though the main and almost only topic was the upcoming Christmas Candle Lighting Service next Sunday evening. Once that was over I was happy to just come home, I was so tired. I crawled into bed and did some stuff on the computer while watching some TV, then had a nice nap for about an hour-ish.
One of my chinchillas is sick. She isn't acting sick at all, but she hasn't been eating/drinking/pooping for several days now. I am going to call some people tomorrow that raise chinchillas. I've bought bath dust from them a couple times, nice people. I'll ask if they've ever had this happen and what could be the cause/cure. If that doesn't help I'll have to take her to a vet if I can find one that knows anything about chinchillas. I'll see if the people who raise them know of a chin vet, if not I'll see if my friend Cyndi knows of a good 'exotic' vet as she has some exotics too, though not chinchillas. Cherry Chinchilla has to be okay. She just turned 2 years old in November, so still very young as far as chins are concerned.
