Cherry seems to be getting more energy, more life back into her which is really great, though it does make it a bit harder to feed her as she no longer is as willing to sit and let me force her to eat. However, since she won't eat or drink on her own yet, I have to keep doing this feeding thing until she does eat on her own again. Hopefully it will be fairly soon. I don't mind feeding her, but feel it would be better for her to eat on her own. Another thing I want to have her doing again is pooping. She is peeing and has a pretty good urine output, I found this out today at 5:25pm. Ya, a good, warm, plentiful urine output on my lap. Oh well, it was good to know things are working right in that way.
So, that is the update on Cherry Chinchilla. I was supposed to weigh her the day I brought her home and keep track of her weight so I can report it to the vet when I phone there next week. She most definitely lost weight over this, and didn't even take any diet pills (chuckle, chuckle). However, I don't have a scale with which to do this, and with nearly $380 on my credit card for the vet bill and the fact that when I was in town yesterday I was in too much pain to think straight, I didn't go buy one. If weather permits, I will drive her back down to the vet's office Monday or Tuesday and they can weigh her and examine her to make sure she's coming along well. If she is not pooping by then or eating on her own, I think it will be best for her to have an exam anyway, and within the first 30 days after the treatment, the followup visits are free. Darn good thing considering what they charge for the initial visit, tests and treatment.
All in all it does appear that Cherry is getting her health back and coming along well.
Cherry at Vet office on Tuesday as we were getting ready to leave.
"Hey Mom, put me in my taxi and let's go home. I not feelin' too good."

Cherry today at home, sitting on a small table in the living room that has a plant and Dan's chop saw on it. Not great background, but sometimes one has to work with what they have available.
