Well, I decided not to go to town after all. I went out the door to get a bag of pellets for the stove and wow!!! the cold took my breath away, and it was really dark on top of the really cold. [as of 8pm, it is -22°C (-7.6°F), record setting cold for this area]. I just didn't feel like venturing out in that, so I didn't. I have enough drinking water to get me through until tomorrow, and I have anti-bacterial hand cleaner, so that will just have to do for now. I could even melt snow, if I really had to, though that would mean having to go out in the cold/dark yard to scoop up a bucket or two. I may have to do just that for the animals... we'll see. Having no water definitely killed my plans to do laundry today, and dishes. And life goes on.
This evening, since I am home, I am moving the pile of 'stuff' from the south end of the living room, some to the north end, some to other rooms. The north end now has the laminate down, the center has the carpet removed and is ready for laminate, while the south end needs to be cleared out and the carpet/underlay removed, tack strip which holds carpet down removed, staples holding underlay removed, then all swept/vacuumed so it's ready for the laminate to be laid. I would like to have it all done before Dan gets here tomorrow morning, but don't see how I can. There's just not enough room to put everything, like the coffee table, china cabinet, small table, and a hassock... not to mention boxes of 'stuff' that needs to be sorted through and hopefully disposed of.
Well, back to work I go.... just as soon as I finish watching Ghost Whisperer, on TV.
