Ruby Tuesday

Remember to click on each photo if you would like a larger view.

The other day I was over visiting Quilly. One of the posts I admired was called Ruby Tuesday, hosted my Mary the Teach at Work Of The Poet. This looks like too much fun to pass up. It's amazing how many things I see that are red so I should never have any problems posting to Ruby Tuesday.

On Friday I was in a town near here and saw so many great 'red' shots! Today I'll show you the school there... built out of RED BRICK. I chose to start with these photos because of this first one. When I saw this window I just thought it would make a cool photo. Now I start my first Ruby Tuesday with this photo because not only is it a cool photo, but also because to me it represents blogging... all around the world.

This shot is of the front of the school. It is an elementary school, by the way.

At the west end of the building is the Boy's Entrance.

And at the east end... hey, where's the Girl's Entrance? Dang! They built a new section onto the school, and put it right over that door. Now girls either have to use the Boy's Entrance or the main entrance in the front of the building. If you look closely at this photo, you will see the window with the globe.

These last two shots are of the back of the school. I could have walked across the field a ways to get it all into one shot, I guess, but I didn't, so deal with it. Haha. The bottom one shows a bunch of the new section that has been added on. I'll bet a gymnasium is in there.

I decided to add on last photo because... how old is this school? I knew you'd want to know!

Have a wonderful Ruby Tuesday!!

Peace, Love and Hugs to everyone!!

Great photos and a gorgeous school! They don't build them like this anymore.

I dearly love old buildings --that one w/ the window would make a great painting too

Great series of shots. I really love the one with the globe in the window. I didn't go to a red brick school but for some reason these pictures bring back memories for me. The mind is odd - or at least mine is...

What a beautiful school, Alice! I'm real glad you decided to join Ruby Tuesday. You picked a great RED subject a RED brick school house! Your first picture is very creative: the window, the red brick, the blue globe. Love it! Thanks for participating!

This is a great red building. The brick makes for a perfect ruby.

Most impressive is the style of a bygone era. Buildings are built these days with an eye to efficiency, less so to style.

Although I use a wheelchair these days, and wouldn't have stood a chance in 1920 with all those stairs.
But the architecture is wonderful!
