Friday Fill-Ins ( #3 for me)

1. The last time I lost my temper I hit Jamie's bird cage. I had her for somewhere around a year and she always attacked me and bit me when I put my hand in the cage. I decided right then and there that if I was going to do something so horrible as hit her cage and scare her, that was it, she had to go to a better home. I went directly to my computer and offered her on Freecycle. The next day a gal came to get her and guess what. Yup, she sat on my finger for the very first time and didn't even try to bite me. She had finally accepted me. It was hard to see her go to her new home!

2. Blogger not uploading pictures for me is what I'm fed up with!

3. The next book I'd like to read is "The Amazing Power Of Deliberate Intent" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. It's been sitting on my shelf awhile now, since I won it a few months ago, and I just don't get the time to read it. I also have others I want to read or re-read stacked up here.

4. Going off somewhere alone with no TV, phone, or other distractions so I can have a "Read & Write" vacation, and do a bit of fishing while I sit on the bank of a mountain lake with a book in my hand and my dog near by is what I'm looking forward to.

5. If you can't get rid of the skeleton[s] in your closet, then you're not 'doing the work'. Get honest with yourself and those around you, and it will happen!

6. The best thing I got in the mail recently was a letter from my pen pal. Now to find the time to write him back. Would you like to write to a pen pal? He could sure use some more letters to get him through this phase of his life.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to tomorrow, tomorrow my plans include getting in touch with friends & if weather permits, a long walk with my dog and Sunday, I want to see Cam. He's hoping to be in my area of the world for a day or two and go for lunch with me on Sunday. We're long time very good friends!

Happy Weekend Everyone! Thanks much for the visit and for any comments!!

Wow, I didn't know birds have a temper or even need bonding time so to speak. And you did give it away in the end?

Serena - Hi. Thanks for stopping by. Yes, this one sure did. If I put food dishes on the inside wires she'd work until she had them off, and I put some twisted rope toys in there that she ripped up real good. Across the room I could hear the threads snapping. Totally had an anger control problem, she did. However, it still was not good for me to loose my cool that night. I don't usually 'mistreat' my animals and felt terrible that I had hit her cage and scared her like that. Though in the end it did seem to have smartened her up. By the time I found out she was going to turn a new leaf and be nice to me, I'd already given her to someone who had driven out to my place to pick the bird up. Too late to change my mind.

Oh well, I have other birds, and more on the way, haha.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! A letter from a Pen Pal is great. I often think no one writes letters any more - only emails. I love getting letters in the mail.

I used to listen to Esther Hicks tapes -- never tried one of the books though. Your vacation idea sounds nice.

Minus the fishing, your idea of a "read and write" vacation sounds perfect!

In response to #5 - Very true!

I hope you have a great weekend.

Grrrr...I had a great post for Friday that needed some photos, and blogger wouldn't cooperate.

Blogger doesn't really screw up all that often, and I know it's a free service, but it's still irritating when you can't get it to do what you want.
