This is the second 'issue' of Camera Critters, a new meme/challenge on the blog, and it's all about photos of animals/critters.. Unfortunately, I missed the first week, so today is my first post. This is a Sunday post each week, and for more information, or to play along, you can check it out by clicking on the banner above. (Careful, it's loaded), lol.
These photos are all of mule deer. A friend and I were driving down the road, came around a corner and there these 4 were. Good thing I carry my camera with me all the time. He hit the brakes, I hopped out, the deer hung around and let me take photos of them until a noisy car came along and scared them away. I took these on September 11, 2005.

I entered the top photo into a local fall fair a couple years ago and won Honorable Mention with it.

I love to see deer, i had a couple almost like these photos
AWESOME photos! Besides dogs, deer are my favorite animal. So, I obviously LOVE these photos. That was so nice of them to stick around and let you take their pictures - they must have known they were beautiful ;-) Congrats on the Honorable Mention too - you truly deserved it, cuz that's a great shot.
I missed last week too, but today I’m introducing Molly at Small Reflections. I love your photo series of the mule deer as these are definitely NOT something I’m likely to see first hand in my beach community. Thanks for the ‘tip’ about ‘imagechef’ … I plan to check it out when time permits.
Hugs and blessings,
Beautiful deers! Especially the first photo is very good! :)
Greetings from Istanbul,
When we visited the Grand Canyon there were mule deer everywhere. It seems like you got pretty close to these. My critter is here if you want to check him out.
That is the closest I am going to get to Mule Deer, your photo. I can see why it got honourable mention. They're beautiful images of beautiful creatures.
Beautiful pictures of the deers.
Wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing them with us.
I never get tired of seeing deer!
They always seem so gentle.
Very cool! I like the one off to the left in the photo.
Beautiful critters! And how civil of them to hang around to have their picture taken!
Ahhh, yes...the typical Mule Deer look, then run. Love the way those guys act.
Nice sequence of shots.
Wow, I never get close to deer here to photograph them, they run away at the slightest movement. These are awesome shots, especially the first one! :)
Oooh, pretty! :)
I've seen these in a few of the National Parks here in the US. There aren't any like that around here, just the regular kind of deer. I did almost hit one this morning though(Wednesday, sorry I'm late)
