Too many emails

I just emptied the trash can in my email in-box. There were 7980 emails (31 unread) in there. I'd say it's past time to empty the darn thing. There are still way too many things in my in-box. 4259 emails of which 2296 are unread. Some days I actually manage to read, or at least browse, all the emails that come in, but there are many days I just can't do it. Already today I've had over 50 emails come in, and the day is only half over. It drives me nuts some days. I have thought about how to cut them down, or better manage them, and so far have come up with no great ideas.

EDIT: Well, the day is done now, and I've been able to fit in some work on this issue. I've moved a lot from the in-box into other folders, and deleted a lot more too. I just emptied another 330 emails from the trash can. There are now 3412 emails in the in-box and 2004 of them are unread. I also have files full of stuff that has and has not been read, lol. The jokes will still be funny when I finally get to them and lots of the other 'stuff' will still be current, though a lot of it will be outdated by then. Oh well, such is life.

There is a lot more work to do yet.

NOTE: With all these emails, the Comments from my blogs never go unread. They are always what I read first, then move on to other stuff. I prioritize, haha.
