I had decided not to buy a daytimer this year, I figured I'd just keep track of 'stuff' on my laptop. I have the calendar to put in my appointments and such, and this blog to tell what I've done each day... so who needs an appointment book (daytimer), right? Well, apparently I do. I decided that it just works better for me to do it on paper, haha. So, today I went to Staples and bought one.
Next I went to Future Shop. That's where I bought my laptop and my bluetooth hands free headset for my cell phone. Well, the Jabra bluetooth quit working just over a month after I bought it, but I didn't get a chance to take it back until today. tomorrow will be 2 months since I got it. I wasn't impressed, to say the least. This is a $199.99 item. No, I didn't pay that for it, but still, haha. What did I pay? Well, first, it was an "open box" item, so had either been a demo product or had been returned by someone else for some reason... so it was marked down to $169.99, and then, because it was a clearance item, the last one they had, I got it for $49.99. So, when I took it back today and talked to a manager, I did show him the receipt and he read the date, so must have read the amount I paid for it too. Because there weren't any more of them, he gave me a $169.99 in store credit. Wow!! So he tells the girl to do up the credit for me. She did it for that plus taxes, so the actual credit she gave me was $190.39. Hey, I'm not complaining here. Then I went back over to the area of the store where they sell this type of item, and bought a really nice bluetooth. It's way more comfortable in my ear than the other one. It was $161.23 with taxes, so I still have a credit of $29.16, haha. Gotta love that!!
I was walking out of Future Shop when I thought I heard my name, so I turn and look behind me and there's 'Harley'. Dam! As I told you earlier, I gave up any hope for having him in my life, he's a Mama's boy. So, we stand there, outside, talking for awhile, then go together to the pet store next door and look at critters and fishes for awhile. When we came out, we were going our separate ways and had a very nice kiss and hug. Maaaannnn, why can't I stop wanting that man!! I have to admit that from the moment I saw him I was wanting to kiss and be in his arms, and when he finally did kiss me I wanted more of those awesome lips. Oh, I tell you, I still need to do a LOT more work on me. I was always attracted to what was either 'bad' or 'unavailable'. He's a strange combination of the two. A biker with lots of 'connections' who lives at home with his parents and is a Mama's boy who says he wants a relationship, but doesn't seem to follow through when he has the chance.
So, after that, I went and did my grocery shopping. As well as getting myself some eats, I got a can of food for Shadow and a big bag for Reba. I don't believe in giving my cats canned food usually, because of past experiences too big to tell you about tonight, haha, but Shadow is so thin that I really would like to put some weight on him. He will be 17 years of age April 28, and has always loved his milk before bed, but recently stopped drinking it. For awhile I was giving him raw meat, like beef heart or liver and he loved that, but has quit eating that now too. He yowls that he wants his snack, then won't eat/drink it when I give it to him, and keeps asking for something. So today I bought a can of food for him. He still eats his dry food well enough, but I want to supplement it with something that will plump him up a bit. He looks too much like a furry skeleton.
Then off to Science Of Mind class for the evening. It was great. Rev. Dale is teaching it and there's only 3 of us 'students', and I'm the only woman, haha. We all have great sense of humor, so the classes can be a lot of fun. I took a bag of cookies tonight and told them "I needed to take care of my boys." Class is supposed to be 7 to 9:30, but somehow we often end up going overtime, until well after 10pm.
I dropped my books off at the library, they were due on the 23, so are 3 days late. Not good, but.... Oh well, at least they are returned now. I'll pay the fine next time I go in there.
Now I'm at home again, watching TV and blogging. I have loads of Science Of Mind homework to do this next coming week, as well as work on a speech for an upcoming Toastmasters Contest that I've entered
Gotta love life!!
