THE PURPOSE BEHIND THE THURSDAY THIRTEEN:

On last week's Thursday 13, I gave a list of 13 things I'd like to get for Christmas this year. This week, I'll tell you how that worked for me, LOL.

1 - Someone to come clean my home.

Didn't happen. After madly gluing mats to photos and wrapping all the gifts late Christmas eve and into early hours of Christmas morning, the place is looking worse than it did before. Guess I'll have to do it myself.

2 - New chinchilla cages

Well, I knew this wouldn't happen. I'm the only one that would buy chin cages, or any other ones either.

3- A date with Bob

I invited Bob to my church's Christmas Candle Lighting Service on Dec. 21. He came!! And he brought a date!! So now we can cross him off the list. Talk about getting a lump of coal in your stocking when hoping for a gold nugget.

4- A date with Chief White Buffalo Man Many Feathers (also known as Dean)

I called White Buffalo on Saturday afternoon and left a message on his answering machine. He never called back. The last time we spoke, also on the phone, he played Garth Brook's song "The Dance" and sang it to me, then asked what I thought of the song and of him singing it to me. I thought later that I want to ask him what it meant to him. There is some kind of strong connection between us, he tells me I was his wife in a former life and he really believes in this kind of thing. He's very spiritual. Rev. Dale and Hannah both really were happy to see him and I together when he showed up at church one day. We hadn't seen each other in a very long time, years, and I went to shake his hand but he gave me a big hug and a kiss. Hannah said later it was a very "warm" way he was looking at me. She thought he has feelings for me, and that we look very good together. Dale said he was happy to see us 'bonding'. However, he didn't phone me back... so I guess, like cowboy Bob, "Indian" Chief White Buffalo Man Many Feathers gets crossed off.

5- A Memory Foam mattress

I'm entered in a contest through PayU2Blog, the entry video is on Reba's Run if you'd like to go see it, so this wish could still come true.

6- A good new vacuum cleaner

Nope, didn't see hide nor hair of this one, LOL.

7- Body work and paint job done on my truck

Knew this wouldn't happen either, but hey, it's good to dream.

8- A freezer full of good beef & chicken for me, Reba & Shadow to share

M sent home the turkey 'giblets' and neck for my critters, so that's a good start, haha.

9- A two week vacation to Mexico

Ah, maybe next year.

10- A years worth of free gasoline for my truck

Last year Dan gave me some gas cards for Esso, but this year he gave me a wireless router. The router will last a lot more than the gas did, haha, and that was no where near a years worth. Never know, I could win a contest at some point and get me years worth of free gas.

11- Flawless performances of all the songs I'll sing on Friday evening at our Christmas Candle Lighting Service.

This went off pretty good. Not totally flawless performance, but very close to it. I was very happy with it for the most part. I had to stand up there and perform in front of Bob who barely looked at me, and Karen, his staring, glaring date with her phony smile every time I caught her staring & glaring at me. Trust me when I tell you, signing and speaking was not the only performance I gave that night... I also acted. He never knew how much 'stress' I was under thanks to him.

12- New feather pillows, minimum two of them

Yup.... got 2 beautiful, queen size feather pillows from Mom. The sure are great, and sooooo much better than my very old pillows.

13- Booming growth on my new business

Well, nothing showing up yet, but could be happening and will show up soon. I am loving how great I am feeling on MaxGXL and I can't think of any reason why other people would not be interested in being/staying healthy and young.
