I had a really hard time getting out of bed this morning, and was running behind right from the moment my feet hit the floor. I got showered and ready to go as fast as possible, gulped down breakfast and ran out the door with Reba, hopped into the truck and off to town. When I got to church, Hannah, Luke & Marshall were standing outside waiting for Rev. Dale to return with his keys. He and Hannah had both thought they had theirs but didn't, lol. So I let us all in. I had planned to be there far earlier and get the Sunday program done up before they arrived... sigh. I like to get it done earlier in the week, but there are times the week blows by too fast.
I had done the computer work on the program ahead of time, so I printed it out, cut the sheets in half, and 'stuffed' the various sheets into the folders. Before I finished Hannah was ready to do our short song rehearsal/warm up, so Rev. Dale had to finish the programs. The service was wonderful, as usual. I was presider over it all, as I am occasionally. I like that as I like public speaking. I was also song leader, as always, as well as Hannah and I did a duet. Gary & Judy, valued members who live in Prince George, about 8 hours drive north of here, were down visiting Vilma, and all 3 came to the service, as they do when Gary & Judy are down. It's always wonderful to see them, they add much to the atmosphere of our Centre. Being the second Sunday of the month, the service was followed by a Pot Luck lunch. I had made a big veggie platter... and forgot it on the counter. Bev had also made a special dish and forgotten it at home. Andree wasn't able to come and she usually brings lots of food. There are always some there that don't bring food but do stay to eat and we always do encourage them to stay and eat with us. We usually have more than enough for everyone to eat. This week it was a bit tight, but we managed.
After everyone else left, I stayed for awhile. I gathered up all the programs and 'disassembled' them so they are ready for me to work with again for next week's program. Some papers are saved to be reused in the next program, and some are put in the recycle. I also put music books away, updated the membership list, and other little jobs like that. It was also a good chance to re-organize my music binder so it's neat, tidy and ready for Tuesday's rehearsal.
When I left the Centre, I drove Reba and I to our favorite dog park and we had a nice walk, 2 times around, visiting with some ladies we met and their dogs.
When I got home I ate a bunch of veggies, lol. The evening went by with nothing exciting for the most part. I watched a movie on satalite TV, then Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters on cable TV... played on the computer, usual stuff, haha.

Hi there my Canadian buddy. In reading about your potluck after church it sounds like the same thing happens in every church. Some contribute and others devour it. What the heck as long as they are there and trying to improve their lives... right? How about sending some moisture our way please.
I really enjoy these glimpses into your day.
