Then later on last night, I got an email from Cyndi saying her sister had promised it to some guy from Freecycle who'd gone over to look at it too. I'd actually still been there, inside drinking tea with Cyndi when Marie showed it to the guy and he said he'd be back today to get it. So I emailed Cyndi back and told her to call me in the morning when she got up and I'd go get the trailer before the other guy got there... so she did and I did. haha. Cyndi lives in a mobile home in Marie's yard, Marie's son had brought it home and stayed in it for a bit, then he took off and hasn't been home in quite some time, so M wanted it gone from her yard. So now I have a small travel trailer (I'll have to measure the length so I'll know what to call it, haha. It's not tiny, but fairly small). I took pictures of it so I can show them to you.
While I was there, Marie arrived home. We surprised Cyndi when it turned out we've known each other for about 25 years, lol. I didn't know that was who Cyndi had meant when talking about her sister, though.
For larger views, click on the photos:
All hooked up and ready to go. Reba's doing a final check to make sure all is safe. (or she's trying to see the cat. Can you find the cat??) A barn is to be built right where the trailer was sitting which is why it had to be gone.
The above photo was taken just after we hooked it up. Then we went in for tea and a visit with Bob & Bamby who had come by and helped us to get the trailer hooked up. There were a few things on the hitch that had been badly bent and needed to be worked on before we could hook it up.
The rest of the photos were taken at my place later in the day. It was dark inside so all these were taken 'blind'... too dark for me to see what I was taking them of, but with the flash they worked out pretty well.
At the back is a bed that folds up into a couch... sleeps 2 here. I'll have to see if they want some of these blankets back. Apparently the kids used it as a play house this summer.
This is above the couch/bed. I believe it is to sleep 2 more people if it had a mattress on it. I'd say kids as it would be a bit too close to the ceiling for adults. I will use it for suitcases and such.
Between the couch/bed and the door there is this closet and furnace. Don't know if the furnace works, or how, but will find out eventually.
Inside the closet. I think the shelf was added and I will likely remove it so clothes can be properly hung in here.
Inside the closet door. I think I'll take these out of there. Paper towel rack belongs on kitchen wall and garbage bag holder belongs under sink if it fits there, but not in with my clothes.
Upper part of kitchen wall... across from the closet and the door.
The sink is full of wax from candles. That could be cleaned out but it's likely down the drain to some extent too, so will make for a bigger job. Not sure if the stove or the fridge work or not, but will eventually find out. Yes, it's a fridge with a wee freezer, not an ice box, how cool is that.
You can see in this pic that this curtain is somewhat shredded. I'll have to make new curtains all around, but that's okay.
And the bench seat at the front end of the kitchen cupboards. The white is the corner of the table which fell down when I was driving. I think it may not have been properly on to begin with . I goes onto a slider thing so it can be taken down easily to make into another bed to sleep 2 more people. I'd say most, if not all, of the time it will be just me and Reba staying in it... unless a friend wants to go along and help pay the gas for my truck.
The wall above the picture above :o)
Above the window at the very front there are 2 doors and this light is above the table.
The window in front of the door.
The bench seat below that window... you again see a bit of the table.
This little rip is so far the only damage I've noticed in the upholstery. It's a bit shredded, but if I turn the cushion I can put this against the front wall.
More storage, and of course under all the benches there usually is storage in RVs
And here is the door. If you look closely, you can just see where there is a broken window in the door... there are 5 glass panels and the third one is broken and Duct taped. No screen either.
You can put the table outside on this slider thing too. I think that's rather cool.
You can see the front window cover is bent/damaged on this corner, 4 of the 5 lights on top are missing the covers... maybe worse, and one of the 3 glass panels in that window on the side is broken. If you look closely you can also see a bit of a rip in the metal in the blue area.
The front bottom corner and the back one too are slightly damaged.
I forgot to take a pic of the back of the trailer... oh well. I'm sure I'll be taking more before I'm done. It's an old travel trailer, and it's got some damage to repair and a lot of cleaning is needed, but I think it is basically in pretty good shape. It has 'good bones', and it doesn't leak. Considering I got it for free I'd say I got a very good deal... and it's well worth fixing up.
On the way home, we drove right past a dog park. Not the one Reba and I like to go to, but a dog park none the less. We stopped there and had us a bit of a walk around.
Cyndi followed us home, and brought her hydraulic jack so we could get the trailer off the truck again. She also walked her dogs at the park. After she left I came in and rested my back for a bit, the drove to the store to get a bunch of vegetables. Some for me here and some to take to church tomorrow for Pot Luck.
Dan came over this evening and put a new anti-virus, anti-spyware program on this laptop for me, as well as took off a bunch of trial programs that were on it when I bought it but are long since timed out now.
I watched some TV, ansered emails, wrote all this... and it's now way past when I should have gone to bed so I can get up real early tomorrow. I have not gotten the program done up for church yet. I did the computer part, but have to go early tomorrow to print it out, cut it to size, stuff it all into folders. I haven't cut up the veggies yet either, or washed them, so must do that in the morning. So I'm off to feed/water critters and head to bed.

Not bad at all for a free-be. Once you get everything all fixed up, you can take some nice spring and summer adventures with Reba.
Cool trailer! It may need work, but what you put into the repairs is not going to come out anywhere close to what you would have had to pay for a trailer!
You got a really great deal on something useful. Congratulations.
