A Toastmasters Halloween

This week my Monday Night Toastmasters had a Halloween theme and most of us dressed up in costumes. What a lot of fun.

I had thought of going as Lady Godiva, or a flasher. I had made a costume years ago and gone out to the country night club as Lady Godiva. It was awesome and all night people were coming up to me to see if I was 'real'. I had bought a mans white muscle shirt, very large so it would be real long. I took it in at the sides, drastically, so it would fit like skin, and I died it skin tone in a bucket of tea/coffee mixture. I used 2 pieces of nylon stocking and did some creative needle work to make the nipples, and made a dart to give the illusion of cleavage. Also, put some hooks in the middle of the hem so I could do it up in the crotch. I wore this with panty hose and cowboy boots, and made a yellow wool 'wig'. I bought a horse head on a stick to use as my horse. I figured this year I would let it out (way out) to fit my 'now' body and use it again, but when I went to get it the wig was there, but not the suit, so I'm not sure what I did with it. I'm sure I'll find it some day.

I was still left with "What will I be this year?" Well, I had a few ideas, like taking a hammer, a quarter, and in my pocket a chunk of cheese. Pound the quarter with the hammer and say "I'm a quarter pounder" and as I pull out the cheese add " with cheese". (McDonald's joke). Or pin a rag doll to the back of my pants and when asked what I am, sit on the doll and say "I'm a baby sitter". Okay, there were a couple more, but I won't bore you with them, haha. I started making a 'Scare Crow' costume, then suddenly changed my mind. I ripped up an old rag into strips and wrapped my hair in 4 of these rag strips, (somewhat like Mom did to put ringlets in my hair when I was little. I think she was trying to control my unruly naturally curly hair.) I added some hair clips and such to fancy up the 'do', and put lots of blush on my cheeks, lipstick on and around my lips. I then put on a big t-shirt type nightgown with a big green, funny looking frog and the words "Being Cute Comes Naturally" on it. Then the house coat and mismatching socks. Add a couple necklaces and a big stuffy rabbit and I was off to an evening of fun. One of these necklaces was a butterfly, one the pen knife and my Dad's 2 rings that I always wear, and the other one a long string of fake green pearls. I've often thought it would be really great to have a real pearl necklace. I could really enjoy that.

"I'm onwy twee an a half years owd and I sneeked out ov the house affer Mommy put me to bed". After Toastmasters there were some of us went out to Tim Horton's for coffee/tea. There was 3 'normal' people (boring), a witch and me, the bad widdow kid.

Girls just wanna have fu-un... oh ya, girls just wanna have fun.

Alice, you crack me up. I am bringing my wife in to read your post about costumes when she gets home from work. I told her a couple of days ago to go as Lady Godiva with a haircut but she didn't think that was too funny. I would have loved to see your costume you rascal you. Have a happy Halloween.

Sounds like a blast! I love the idea of the Lady Godiva costume. Very clever and nicely put together.
