Thursday 13

Welcome to my 10th

THE PURPOSE BEHIND THE THURSDAY THIRTEEN:

The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. What do you do? Write Thirteen things about yourself, summarize your week in one entry, make it easy for other bloggers to get to know you on a weekly basis. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun!

Thirteen of the oh-way-too-many things I need to do here (outside):

1- dig out around the door to the old rabbitry... now the 'summer home' for the chickens. I need to close the door soon to keep the chickens out of there.

2- move the chickens back into their 'winter home'. The 'winter home' is a shed, the 'summer home' is a lean to off the shed. I don't know why they prefer the lean to, but it's not warm enough for winter. It's just chicken wire walls and a tin roof. The shed doesn't have heat, but is smaller with solid insulated walls & I leave a light on to make a bit of heat in there.

3- fix the door to the chicken run... it's falling apart badly.

4- dig out around the door to the chicken run. Over time "stuff" builds up around the doors so they don't open/close properly. They're too close to the ground I guess.

5- put a load of garbage into the utility trailer and take it to the dump.

6- cut down all the burdocks and thistles and put into trailer for the dump trip too.

7- take a bunch of pop bottles & cans in to the recycle depot and get some money for them. Will be good to have them out of the way.

8- clean up the carport and add some more stuff to the trailer. This will make it easier to get to my stacks of pellets for the stove.

9- I have an antique wood stove (garbage burner it's called) outside that I want to cover up before snow, even before more rain for that matter.

10- clean up the flower beds

11- put away the flower pots

12- get rid of non-working barbeque's that I got from Freecycle, was told they worked but they don't. (I put one down at the bottom of the driveway the other day hoping someone will take it, then I can put the other one there. Didn't remember to look today to see if it's gone yet or not).

13- clean out my truck

and you get a bonus again this week....

14- take the rack off the truck and put the canopy back on.

Thanks for visiting by Thursday 13 post. I wish you a wonderful day!!

I'm exhausted just reading your list of outdoor chores. I miss my chickens. We had chickens, bunnies, goats, and all kinds of critters a long time ago when the kids were young.

Thanks for visiting me.

Good luck with all the items on your 'to do' list. The chickens sound like a lot of work!

my chickens live in the same coop year-round, but this reminds me --- put heat lamp bulb on the shopping list.
