'The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent'

My church has a Book of the Month draw every month, raffling off some very good books. Each Sunday a short reading is given from the book so people can see a bit of what it's about, and to get them interested in buying tickets ($1 each or 3 for $2) for their chances to win. A few months ago, July actually, the book was 'Power of Decision' by Raymond Charles Barker. I have a copy of this book, but knew someone that I thought would benefit a lot from reading this book, so the day of the draw I was presiding over the Sunday Service and when Hannah read the excerpt from the book on the day of the draw, I said to the congregation that I was going to win it and give it to a friend. After the service, during the tea/coffee/snack social time, the draw was made and I won. Everyone laughed. As it turned out the friend didn't want to read it, is not ready to make changes in his life, so I still have it... somewhere, haha. I want to find it soon and give it to someone, and our minister is giving a class based on this book in a couple weeks.

The following month, August, the book was 'The Law of Attraction' by Esther & Jerry Hicks. Hearing the weekly readings I decided this would be an awesome book to read and I wanted it. The last day of the month, the day of the draw, I was again the presider of the Sunday service, and I told the congregation that I was winning this book too... and I did. (Gotta love this). The Book of the Month for September sounded good, but wasn't one I 'just had to have', so I said before the draw that I was letting someone else win it.... and someone else won it.

The October Book Of The Month was 'The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent' by Esther & Jerry Hicks. In 'The Law of Attraction' they do talk about the Power of Deliberate Intent, very interesting and powerful stuff. These two are sort of like 'sister books' I would think. Anyway, I decided this would also be a wonderful addition to my library, and was a book I wanted to read. I wasn't the presider, but still told everyone that I was winning this book too. The draw day was last week when I was away, and after leaving the previous Sunday I didn't give it another thought. Today I was at song rehearsal and was talking to Hannah about the program for this coming Sunday. She told me the name of the new book which reminded me, so I asked her who won the book while I was away. ME!! It's sitting right here beside me now and I can hardly wait to read it. I really have gained in life by reading 'The Law of Attraction', and know that this book, 'The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent', will add that much more.

When I read good, uplifting, educational books of any kind, I like to underline important thoughts and concepts. Sometimes I find that the process of underlining helps me to focus my always wandering mind on what I am trying to read and absorb. I usually prefer to underline in pencil, though sometimes use highlighters or pens.

I'm changing my life one positive and thrilling day at a time.
