Lasik Monovision

This is a sponsored post

I wear glasses, also called corrective lenses, and have done so since I was in Grade 9. For a while, as an adult, I often wore contact lenses so I wouldn't have to wear the glasses. This was great, but after awhile I started to have some problems with my eyes burning and watering so much I couldn't keep them open. When I went to the eye doctor I found out I have "dry eye syndrome". I had to stop wearing contact lenses and start using eye drops to moisturize the eyes and wash out the minute salt crystals. Now, many years later my eyes have greatly improved, though I sometimes still have a flare up and have to use they eye drops again. I wear glasses full time and they can be totally annoying at times.

My eyes are short sighted, so I need the glasses for looking at anything very far away from me, and for reading I don't need them, so I have to wear bifocals to be able to see at all distances. My sister Marcy and my good friend Dan don't wear glasses except for reading, and I know many others just like them. I've often thought that would be better than wearing them all the time, yet now I see that I would likely always be loosing my reading glasses, like Sheila, or not having them with me when I need them, like Dan.

Lasik monovision is a way to solve the reading glasses issues. With either contacts or Lasik, you can reduce the need for reading glasses or bifocals. Ever wonder what causes us to need reading glasses? A condition known as presbyopia and is most often first detected in people between 40 and 50 years of age. A sure sign of presbyopia is when you cannot read without holding the item far away from you. For many, distance vision remains relatively unaffected by presbyopia.
