Trip to Vancouver Island - Day 2; part 2

LONG BEACH
no, not Long Beach California, this one is in BC on the western (Pacific Ocean) coast of Vancouver Island.

No explanation needed here :o)

Mom, Marcy & Randy

Me. I don't like this photo any more than I like most I've seen of me in recent years, but oh well, I'm posting it for you anyway. (Just a weird bit here... this photo is #56 and I was born in '56, haha)

Footprints in the sand.

Beach to my right (north)

Walk out to the water and take another shot of the above...

Shoot a photo of the "crazy people" out "playing" in the water :o) It must have been very cold!

Beach to my left (south)

Looking back in towards the.... hey wait! They're leaving without me! "Hey, wait up!"

One last photo as I run past the drift wood on the inner edge of the beach

In the one of the beach to your right (north) is the First Nation's reserve of Esowista. Same Nation as Ahousaht.

Looks like you caught a nice low tide that day too!

Thanks for telling me (us) this Kai. It is really neat that you know this and recognize places I took photos of. Yes, it was a low tide so I was able to walk quite a ways out. The sand was very firm, totally unlike the sand on the beaches around here. I didn't even get any sand in my shoes on Long Beach or at the wedding, haha.

If you liked Long Beach you would have loved the beaches in Ahousaht. No people, tons of shells and other things to look at, and like I said - you had the ENTIRE beach to yourself! And there were about 8 consecutive beaches within an hours walk.

It was heaven :-)

PS: Don't forget to send me your phone # - I keep thinking of more and more things to tell you about PPP!

Is Sunday a good time to call? Let me know.

AWW ya, you just HAD to go and say that didn't you. Now I want to go to Ahousaht! LOL. It sure sounds awesome! I'd end up coming home with a suitcase full of shells and drift wood, and packing drift wood that's too big to fit in the suitcase.

The email is sent... :o)
