Trip to Vancouver Island - Day 1

Hi. Here are some photos of the trip I took to my older brother's wedding. I will post them in bits and pieces until I have them all up. On my May 14th Manic Monday post, I told some about the trip, so you can go have a look if you like.

Day one: Mom, sister Marcy & her husband Randy picked me up about 6:30am and we drove down to the lower mainland. We arrived at Anne's (oldest sister) about 12:30pm. Anne, Marcy & Randy were gone by about 1pm, headed off to golf, returning about 7pm. Mom & I went over to the mall for awhile, about 1 1/2 blocks from the apartment, while the rest were gone. After we got back I went down to the rooftop garden.

This is how I saw a lot of the view on this trip, peaking out between the front seats. I also looked out the side window, but often found myself feeling a bit car sick, so had to return to looking out the front window.

This is the view from Anne's living room window in New Westminster, near Vancouver, BC. This is a very secure building which would be good in a city I guess.

Looking out and down from her porch window, we see the rooftop garden on the 7th floor.

This is taken on the rooftop and shows how the tower goes up from the rest of the building. Anne's apartment is the second from the top in this photo. The building is 19 stories high.

Another of the rooftop garden. I sat at the table under that little roof for about 2 hours, writing and just enjoying the "me" time.

Once to golfers returned, we and Anne's 2 grandkids all went out for an incredibly good dinner. It wasn't long after returning to her home that we all went to bed as we had to be up early.
