Thought Provoking

This is from Daily Thoughts. Once signed up they send a quote like this to you every day. The quote is always followed by a Hunger Fighters button. Click on it to donate a free cup of food to a starving person (doesn't cost you a cent). This button is linked to the site, so go ahead and push it...

I must confess that I don't really understand what is this one means. Maybe I'm missing the really obvious and will read it again later and think how dense I was this morning to miss something so easy. Or maybe not. It seems to me that this one needs more thought and deep inner searching.

I invite you to leave me your thoughts on this and it's meaning.

Welcome home Alice.
To mE this one means, keep loving, no matter what, to find real love.
Well that might work for some, but not for mE. I am sure she is not talking about abusive relationships, which I have experienced.
Mother was one exceptional person, as we all know. More devoted than I could ever be. I need something back in order to keep "that loving feeling alive."
Are you ready for prompts again? Just say the word.

Love, Barbara

Thank you for this nice note, Bobute. It would be hard to keep loving even through the pain etc. A real challenge... sigh. I also need something back, some kind of encouragement and returned love and respect. Oh... wait... something just occurred to me... there are some men from my past that I still love, even after many years of not seeing or hearing from them. Would I take them back if I could? Nope!! And yet I can still love them from a distance. Hmmmm... thought provoking. I'll have to work on this in my journal.

As for me being back, Barbara, I have been for 3 days and am leaving again bright and early tomorrow morning for another week... then I will again take over the prompts for our group. In the meantime... you are doing a wonderful job of it. If I can I'll check in from someone else's computer during the coming week.

Hi again:
Yep, even I still "love" from the past, yet would not want all that was added on over time.
Enjoy your week away. No problem with the prompts, whenever you are ready.
More later,
Love, Barbara

When I first read the quote, I thought it could mean that even though you may have been hurt in love, that doesn't mean you should shut yourself away from the possibility of love in the future.

If I had done so, I wouldn't have met my love.

Barbara - a big HUG to you.

Travis - great thoughts, and a very good view of this quote. I think I may have shut myself down to love at some point in my past. You can only be crushed so many times without doing so. Now, after many years on my own I want to find a way to re-open my heart to the possibilities. This time to a healthy love with a healthy loving man. I've had a "heaping helping" of abuse and control... now I'm ready to experience true love and respect with freedom in our togetherness. In most ways I am not the same woman I was all those years ago, so by rights I should no longer attract the same kind of man I did back then. Wish me success. :o)
