I'm very late posting this today as I am very behind in my life just now. I almost didn't post at all, but then ended up writing, so figure I may as well post it, lol.

My family tree, as I'm sure is the case with everyone's, has many branches. With genealogy, many people go back down the tree for generations, following the branches back towards the trunk, hoping to eventually find roots.
One branch of my Dad's branch of the family, is Burt. Burt's mother & my father were 1st cousins (another story for another day), so we are some kind of cousins. Anyway, Burt is very into doing genealogy and has shared some very interesting information with me on the branches of the paternal side of my family tree. Although most of the work he's done has concentrated on the branches that directly concern him & his, he has also gathered some details on our branch where they overlap.
I've done a small amount of genealogy research, but don't have the finances at this time to put towards doing much of this. Everyone wants money for any information they have to share with you.
My Immediate Branch of the Family Tree
(All go by their first name unless "otherwise stated")
Dad: Jesse James "Jim" (Aug. 1915 - Jan. 1999), was born at home in a sod hut, on the "bald headed prairie" (as he used to say) of Saskatchewan, Canada. The nearest town, Valley Centre, no longer exists, but was south of Biggar, Saskatchewan. His parents came over from England, and these branches go back through England & Wales.
Mom: Annie "Ann" (b. Aug. 1923) was born in Smithers, British Columbia, Canada (as were all her children). Writing this has brought up a question for me to ask Mom: was she born at home or in a hospital? If I knew this at one time, I'm not at this time recalling it. Mom's parents were from Romania.
Jim & Ann started little branches who started little branches, who... well, you get the picture.
-Anne Louise (b. June 1945)
---Dennis Lane "Denny" (b. Aug. 1966)
------Dustin Lane (b. Apr. 1986)
------Nicole Breanne (b. May 1989)
------Danielle (b. Oct. 199?) As Danielle was with his second wife whom I hardly knew, I've only seen Danielle once or twice when she was a baby, and unfortunately don't know much about her at this time.
-Gerald Wayne "Gerry" (May 1950 - November 1951) this little branch was broken off before it had a chance to grow.
-Marcella Anita "Marcy" or "M" to family members (b. Sept. 1952)
---Shannon Leanne (b. May 1973)
------Carter Bradley (b. Apr. 1999)
------Kennedy Paige (b. Apr. 2002)
---Blake Robert (b. May 1975)
-Terence James "Terry" (b. Mar. 1954)
---Rebecca Elizabeth "Becky" (b. Feb. 1976)
------Clayton Paul "Clay" (b. Jan. 2002)
------Robert James "Robby" (b. Sept. 2004)
---Joshua Bluejay "Josh" (b. Apr. 1978)
------Siobhan Catherine (b. June 1995)
------Jacob Terence (b. June 2000)
-Alice Gail (b. Jan. 1956) never "branched out"
-Bernard Ronald "Bernie", sometimes "B" to family (b. May 1959)
---Hana Jeanne (b. Oct. 1986)
---Jeremy James (b. Apr. 1989)
---Jillian Mabel "Jill" (b. Apr. 1991)
Each spouse (current & former) of each of my siblings of course has his/her own family tree with all it's myriad of branches.

What a nice MM. I couldn't get very far with a family tree but it did cross my mind.
Thank you for sharing
Be well
Glad you took the time to post this. This kind of research does take a lot of time, and it's sometimes so hard to stick with it.
But you have a lot of information. Thanks for sharing.
big tree!!
some in our family have done these, its interesting to see where folks have come from.
Danielle - thank you for coming by to visit. Glad you liked my post. I haven't gotten very far either, to be honest. This stuff is all current. I do have a bit of the line back, but not a lot. Would like to have more, so maybe someday.
Travis - I'm glad you're glad... haha. Yes, it does take a lot of time, money, research and if you're lucky you can actually prove it's right, and often you can't. Burt has put years and years of work into what he's done and is very diligent in finding proof of the authenticity of the connection.
As for having a lot of info, like I told Danielle, this is just immediate family, just the tip of the ice burg. I can add a lot of aunts/uncles/cousins too, and grand parents, and a bit further... not far.
Claire - these are just the tips of the branches, lol. Yes, it is a big tree. It is very interesting to find out about ones ancestry.
