Manic Monday

Every Friday, Morgen at It's A Blog Eats Blog World posts a word for everyone (who chooses to join in with the Manic Monday meme) to post about on the following Monday. This week, the word is Blow. Blow, blown, blowing, blew are all good.

This is an old joke, reworked for today's Manic Monday.

Two guys, Joe and Mike, are driving along, down a road miles and miles from nowhere, on their way to a small village near the coast of BC. All of a sudden there’s a big BANG! Smoke comes up from the front of the car, so they drift off to the side of the road and stop. The driver, Joe, pulls the hood release, gets out, lifts the hood and they both look under it.

“Dang, we blew a rod. We have a blown freaking rod!”

Then, for quite some time, they both paced back and forth in the gently blowing wind, saying “What are we going to do? What the heck are we going to do? We’re miles from anywhere. What the freak are we going to do?”

A few hours later they are sitting in the shade of the car, wishing the wind would blow again as it was so hot and still, the only shade was that in which they were sitting. Still they keep wondering, “What the freak are we going to do?” Then suddenly, off in the distance, some miles away, they see a cloud of dust coming towards them.

“We’re saved! Here comes a car.”

Finally the car comes weaving down the road, pulls up beside them with 4 people in it, and comes to a jerky halt beside them. Joe and Mike walk up to the car and, indicating their car with the hood still up, Mike says “Piston broke”.

The driver of the newly arrived car slurs, “ya, show are wee. Hop in”.
