On Tuesday I had to go to the hospital for a Barium X-ray on my stomach as I've been having bad acid reflux issues and the 2 different types of meds the Dr. has given me have not worked, so he wants to see what's happening in there. I'm all for that if it will help stop the pain. Sooo... I'm driving to town for the 10 am appointment and get just a wee bit down from my driveway and the muffler falls off my truck. I just had this muffler and tail pipe put onto the truck the end of October, so was not expecting this. So much for my fresh, clean clothes as I had to crawl under the truck and tie the muffler up (thank God I had some rope in the truck). So now I was very loud, but back on the road. I got to town and it fell again, so I had to get underneath and tie it up again... a knot had come undone. Needless to say, I was not impressed, and I was late for my appointment. Well, today I took the truck in to town again, this time to get the muffler put back on properly. Part way to town it fell off again, the rope broke. Again, fresh clean clothes didn't stay that way long, but this time it was worse as the snow was melting a bit, so the road and shoulders are very wet. I was wet and dirty, so took off my sweatshirt and put on a vest I had in the truck... right there on the side of the road, haha. Back on the road, but not for long before the rope broke again.... grrrrr! Off with the vest, on with the wet sweatshirt, under the truck with a new piece of rope, tie up the muffler, off with the sweatshirt that's even wetter and dirtier now, back on with the vest. At that point I really didn't care if people saw me in my bra. My pants were soaking wet too, but had nothing to replace them with.
Now my muffler is welded on in such a way it shouldn't come down again.
While at my mechanic's getting this done, a fellow I met there several times now offered to drive me home while the truck was being worked on so I could get into dry clothes. I was very grateful for the offer and I took him up on it. While we were here he was looking at my animals in cages in the living room... rabbit, chick, budgies... empty cage where chinchillas should have been. Empty cage? What? Yup... I'd managed to leave the cage door open last night when I fed them. No time to worry about it at that point, but when I got home later I had to find them and get them back in the cage. That took all evening! When a friend called, the phone rang in the living room, but the one in the loom room didn't ring... hhhmmm, strange. Well, not so strange after all... the chinchillas had chewed the cord in pieces.
This "culprit" is Cheri, a Beige chinchilla.
And 2 shots of Daisy... a Standard Grey chinchilla who loves to be scratched around the neck and ears.

Here's 2 pictures of Bismallah taken tonight. I still don't know for sure, but based on attitude (chickentude) I think this baby is a boy. Anyway, today I weighed Bismallah and s/he is now 2.5 ounces. The little winged monster is growing fast! S/he found his (?) wings yesterday and it was so funny to see him flying every change he got. Once he landed on Shadow's head... oooppps. Shadow was not impressed! The poor old guy is easily scared and I think he's scared of Bismallah.
I'm a few days behind on visiting all my favorite blogs (the list of them is growing too big), so am working on catching up. I will see you all there in the next few days.
