Plants in My Home

In Poinsettia Arrangements, after babbling on a bit I said, "Do I have you convinced yet that it was okay to buy another "dieff"? Do you believe I really need any more plants of any kind? More about that in another post". Well, now to explain what I meant by that... a picture says a million words, so here are some pictures.

In my kitchen:

2 plants plus 2 rooting in a jar of water, broke off one hanging in the living room.

This is a lousy picture, but it's 4 cans full of Calendiva cuttings that are rooted and I need to find pots for them one of these days.

On top of the fridge: a rubber type plant in water... well rooted and still in water, plus a vase of water with 2 bamboo and 2 pussy willow branches.

On the front door: the poinsettia-dieffenbachia-ivy arrangement.

In the Living Room:

Big dieffenbachia... at the base are several little "dieff" plants I started this summer, and 2 avocado pits in water to root.

Variegated Fig tree, Begonia, Purple Shamrock, and below is umm... I forget the name of it, but there is also a small Green Shamrock growing in the same pot. The big one is long and leggy, so it should look good when the Shamrock is big and fills in the pot.

The same Purple Shamrock got into the edge of this picture, then there's 2 small plants I am not sure of the names for and one avocado pit in a pot of sail to root. Then there's this big rubber plant of some kind.

On top of the VCR is the small poinsettia-ivy arrangement.

Above was my north facing living room window, now for the east facing...

In front of the china cabinet, on a wicker stand is the poinsettia-ivy-dieffenbachia I bought at Wal Mart arrangement, beside the faux Christmas tree in the red pot is a spruce tree. I don't know the names of the hanging ones. Now for a closer look at some of these others...

I forget the name of the bigger one in this white pot, but in the same pot are 3 small grapefruit plants I started from seeds out of grapefruits I ate. The little yellow flowers are as "real" as the snowman. I don't know the name of the other plant in this picture either. At one time I had a house full of different plants and knew the names of every one. Now I'm not so "caught up" on their real names... guess I could give them names... ya... okay... the little plant is Freida and the one in the big white pot is Spot. There, now I know their names. :o)

A close up of the dieffenbachia and the hanging plant I now name Jill.

In the white pot is a Calendiva, the one that all the cuttings in the cans in the kitchen are off of. In the tea pot shaped planter are cuttings of several plants, in water.

In my loom room:

2 spider plants

In my computer room:

An ivy, an Easter Lily, Bertha and Octopus both of which I think are some kind of philodendron, but am not sure.

So... do you think I need more plants??

Can you ever really have too many plants. I'm a bit jealous - they're all beautiful.
