Light Mail

Daily Inspiration: Love is always open arms. If you close your arms about love you will find that you are left holding only yourself. ~Leo Buscaglia

Today’s Affirmation: I love myself, and see the beauty of me in all I see.

Today's Spiritual Practice: In any moment the only thing that keeps you from loving every single human being is opinion. Opinions are subtle judgments that will set you free only when you release them.

From Light Mail, put out by Rev. Dale Jukes of the
Okanagan Centre for Positive Living.

I don't think I want to be set free from my opinions!

I'm not a very spiritual person, but I've been thinking about something similiar to that last one of late...

My friend calls it tolerance, but for me it is something beyond tolerance, more acceptance of what is. Doesn't mean I have to agree with it or give up my opinion on it, just acknowledge it is what it is and move on from there so it doesn't wind up creating too much more in the way of problems for me and others. I've been struggling with words, because neither acceptance or tolerance really is defining the conclusion I'd like to come to!

LOL... that's cool Madcap. Life is all about choices, and we all get to make our own.

I haven't always been a spiritual person either, Wildside, but have found that since I have become more so my life has greatly improved in many ways, and I am a much happier and more prosperous person for it.

You are right that you don't have to agree or give up your own opinions on anything. For me, since I decided to make changes in my life I've got so many less problems, so much less struggle, and I know that in time I will have even less and maybe some day none. And when I have none it will be time for me to leave the earth :o) because there will be nothing left for me to learn.

I love to grow and to learn and to become a better, happier person. I no longer even consider, never mind dwell on the idea of "leaving this earth early" as I once did. I also no longer fear loosing my home and having to live on the streets. That is no longer an option in my life.

What we think about we create into our lives, so now I focus my thoughts to the positive. I think about what I DO WANT, not about what I don't want. It's kind of like riding a bicycle... if you're riding down a road and you see a big rock in the road, focus your attention on the rock and you will hit it, but focus your attention on where you WANT to go, around the side of the rock, and that is where you will go. Simple... but not always easy.

Please know that I do not mean anything here to be "preaching", or trying to "convert" anyone. It's just simply sharing what I care about deep in my heart. If anyone gets something out of it, bonus, if not then they don't. When I go to other blogs and read, if there is something there that I am not interested in I skip that part and read what does interest me. I expect that will happen on my blog too. I don't expect everyone to read every word I post, though that would be nice :o)

There is little if anything I don't read on either of your blogs, ladies, as I find it all very interesting. Keep up the great work.
